My dad once said if you leave this place with but one friend you would be one most fortunate man. Plenty of pals come and go. Neighborhood buddies, high school chums, college fraternity interests but "friend?" The wife, of course, and that where it ends, and even that for many is a shooting star looking for a crash-landing way too often.

And then there is a place called FS that you hit a jackpot, and it's your new favorite place to go! (and no need to put gas in the car) The friend I wrote about is amazing and we had unreal similarities, that bonded us like sisters.
But there are so many here that are so special to me, and a handful like you Tom that I just can't wait to hear from. But if I were to ever write about my friend who makes me laugh like no other, even in my real life, you are it.
I just feel the need to tell you how much your friendship means to me, as we aren't ever sure when we won't have that chance again. And I thank you so much my awesome friend!

Dang girlie. Had I known I would have remained single (psst. don't let Myra know) which I did anyway until age 31then after meeting a lass of 19 two and a half years earlier I committed to wearing either a stripe b/w uniform or burnt orange in matrimony. The recipe seemngly worked. Forty three years without an argument for forty one when I figured out as often I thought myself right that 98.6 percent of the time she was instead. Better to be a mute than to argue with a formidable woman.

I know all about how lucky you are to have Myra and she you. That's what so cool about special friendships, you are always happy that your friends are happy! Glen and I just celebrated 48 years, but lol, he's not as patient as you are. He just needs to laugh a little more!

As in my poem Opposites Attract, it pretty much tells a comical type version of it.
He does always tell me that I'm too nice for him, and I let him be right about that. Lol!

Well Debi, I can honestly say I know blood sisters who do not share as warm and wonderful a relationship as the one you describe in this poem! But writing, and poetry in particular, tends to build bridges of commonality and friendships where no commonality exists and where strangers, who will never meet can build such friendships as to feel like sisters! AMAZING!

Hey Debi! I can So relate to FS being a favorite place to go. I am currently in the throws of a HUGE move and I still have to make time for my latest addiction -FS, and all the wonderful people that I am meeting. Thank you so much for being such a warm and caring person!

How blessed was she to have found a kindred spirit like yourself. The two of you almost sound like twins! I can feel your love and admiration in each and every line and verse of your poem. Your rhyming is silky smooth.

Truthfully Nomi, I try to be kind to everyone, but I only have a few who are so special to me. I honestly have to say that there are only four that I am as close with. And you are one of those four, as I feel like you are my brother.
So don't be surprised when my brotherly love one comes up. So would you mind sharing when your birthday is?

The anniversary of my birth is April second. Interestingly enough I had a cousin, (now deceased) whose birthday was April first. Together, we were an unholy pair, a real terror growing up.

Hahahahaha! Nomi I truly needed that laugh right now, as I was a good girl, but with some bad habits. I think when we are young, we seem to feel like we will live forever. Your birthday will be on my list of important dates to remember, as I can't imagine my life without my very best friends here.
