Sugar: excellent images, rhymes, iambic beat and photo of the
storms. Our state of Minnesota had rainstorms last week with
85 mph winds, six cities hit with destruction. We had a downpour of rain and hail. Our neighboring city of 15 minutes away lost power. Our roof
was patched before the storm so we didn't get water in our house.
Stay safe. flylikeaneagle ********************

Sugarray77: I like storms when I'm inside. Tornado sirens went off at 2am one night to warn the campers at campsites. I like rain especially when I'm safe inside. My flowers enjoy the rain water - God's holy water. Enjoy! Great poem !!! nancy

Well done, Melissa! Great descriptions of the coming storm. I especially like blackish ink, white lances, and boiling clouds that can't hold the strain. Beautiful imagery and wordplay! The repeated line fits wonderfully in each verse. Blessings. Carol

That is a nasty looking storm - and your kyrielle captures the drama perfectly. I enjoy kyrielles with its repeating line - it builds anticipation. Hurricane just began - hopefully it will not be an active season!

Hi June. Thanks so much. I tried to build tension into this poem with the approach and subsequent drops pinging on the window pane. It was fun to try it. Its been a while and I just hoped I could write a decent poem. Thanks again, June! Hugs!

This exactly describes the coming storms here in Florida, sans the "hit the dust." Horizons filled with blackish ink - beautifully describes a coming storm.

We'll done, and I love the picture.

A nicely written Kyrielle Melissa, you are very good at these, you've put a very good theme to the repetitive last line, which is smooth and so very brilliant with its Language, rhyming and structure, well done My friend, blessings Roy

Quite an accomplishment within the Kyrielle form. I like the link between pain and pane in the first and last stanza. The rhymes were well done and didn't seem forced.

Hi Tim. Thanks so much. I am glad you like this kyrielle. There are a lot of good rhyming choices with ane/ain my mind was going in so many directions with theme and progression. Thanks again.

Your kyrielle is excellent in all respects--skillfully and accurately written
and vividly descriptive of the sounds and actions in nature leading up to a good rain. Effective use of personification

As a keen observer of natural phenomena I would say you had this just about right and if you don't get under cover very soon you are going to get very wet

Hahaha, thanks Jim. I looked at my poetry for the MEF class a while back and saw the Kyrielle that you taught. Thought I would take it for a spin in the storm. LOL. Much appreciated, my friend.

Yikes! We had a lovely vacation in the panhandle and when we returned home, we hit a terrible storm about an hour out. Whew. This weather can really be bad.

Sending you my best, hoping this poem is just a remembrance.
