The author's words are engaging, concerning, descriptive and creative. I pondered on these words and thought about myself eating too much! The author's words made me smile at times. The poem flows and connects well. Have a great afternoon!....Maria

Maria? Oh my goodness and all this time I have been calling you Harmony?
I am sorry Sweetheart, but you look like so harmonious and is beautiful as the music of a harp. That also describes your sweetness! So regardless I think your are always so lovely and make me feel so good about my poetry. Thank you my dear friend!

I did not need Covid to come along because I had already had a hankering for food anytime it came into view, save for a few unchoice items, like hog jowls and balut.

Well golly bill, what's wrong with hog jowls? Hahaha, should I even ask what a hog jowl is? So you are on one of those see food diets, huh?
I did put on about 25 pounds in the year of 2020, but thankfully took it off by the end of 2021. Not knowing that covid was coming, I quit smoking the end of 2019, and I said that would be the last time. Well food was tasting good for the first time ever and then with covid, it tasted way to good. I wasn't quite as bad as my poem would have you believe, but then again you can't believe everything you read.....right? hehehe!

I can really identify with this one. The best time for me is while I'm writing a poem. That seems to be the only time that my mind is concentrating on something other than food.

Times have been tough and staying at home hasn't helped our need for comfort. Food is the biggest comfort because it takes away need, we don't really need it but we think it will help our loneliness and it is entirely a selfish need, no one sharing or caring about our addiction until we have a big problem like diabetes. Self control is the only button to push. K xx

Aussie, yes it is a very serious thing for us that have addictions, and I have moved from one to another in my life, and now thankful that FS is my latest addiction and at least it it full of positive rewards/ So you are on one of those see food diets like me, huh? Haha! With diabetes so big in my family; my dad, 3 sisters and 2 brothers and 16 nieces and nephews. My brother and I are the only ones in the immediate family without it.

I know how the poet feels. Since covid my weight has gone sky-high lol. I thought the poem was very funny but also truthful to many people. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing. Have a great weekend.

This is a very cleverly written poem and I enjoyed the wit and humour in it. It flowed very smoothly and rhymed well, with excellent metre. I am sure it will be a winner in the contest.

This poem made me smile as food has become the only comfort for some who have taken to the sofa and remained with their feet up! The excesses of food can result in unwanted weight gain which is a threat to our health. Now that the covid crisis is over it is time to get out and get some exercise and eat healthily. Great rhymes and I loved the humour here, love Dolly x
