Never heard this word before! Makes sense... At least it sounds like it could be derived from the same route as "hour." Perfect 5-7-5 presentation with the corresponding image. Since I'm always running late (even with reviews) I'd like to top the clocks for a few minutes...

Like this one a lot, Debra, I feel it really works well with your "black and white theme." Clocks and watches have become such a collectors items, and I feel this brings them back to life. I love the nudge about clock collectors gathering time. Maybe the more watches and clocks he gathers, the more time he will collect. Very good piece

Debra,
So nice to get to visit someone else for a change! This month has been crazy!
I like the clever wordplay here. Not taking yourself too seriously, but letting the image guide you to a happy place where we can join you in a smile. Thanks!

I should be in this society because I love clocks and timepieces while I can still see them. I can't see my watch anymore but a large analogue clock is still within my field of vision. Splendid poem , dear, and so informative.
Sending my best in time,

I'm an amateur photographer and I love taking pictures of clocks. I have one from a storefront in town of dozens of clocks arranged artfully in the window. So, you had me with the picture! I did not know what a horologist is, so thank you for the note. The black and white picture with black and white font/background add to your poem. Nice entry - good luck.

Hi Debra,
I have always though these short poems are super difficult to write. It's a bit like short flash fiction.
Anyway, I think you have chosen a very interesting and original topic. I would have probably written about the clocks themselves because I don't have the patience to follow the 'right' writing process and I always rush through it.
I like the poem, the picture (I don't know if you chose that yourself). The
extra information at the bottom is also very interesting.
Thanks for the read.

Hi Maria :)
So happy to see you back here :)
Is there a 'right' writing process?! I just seem to stumble my way along!
Thanks for the lovely feedback - hope to be reading you on here soon xx

Apparently there is, but I don't seem to be able to grasp the concept.😊 Or so the experts say.🤔
Hugs.

I often curse the clock as the time slips away so quickly each day and I don't seem to be able to get everything done before it is bed time! I hate being late and I like being organised, I suppose the clock helps with both these things. A fine write Debra, love Dolly x

Comment from Gloria ....
So clever, and I do so love the word horologist, it has such a nice soft sound to it, compared to the ticking of tocking of other time devices.
Excellent, and all my best to you in the contest. :)

I hadn't heard of the word 'horologist' before I did a little research yesterday. It does have a nice softness to it, you're right!

I wonder if horology will become obsolete in the digital age? I know I use my phone and fitbit for the time.
Good use of alliteration in your 5-7-5. Best wishes in the contest!

This is a lovely 5-7-5 poem that does indeed describe the clock / watch lover's passion. I myself find these devices of outstanding beauty and interest, irrespecive of whether they are actually in working order or not.
