I'm doing my best to find the April poems I missed ~ not sure how this one got by me, but very cool that I'm finding it the day after national limerick day!
What I find so endearing in your work, Debra is not only your skill, but our sense of humor and wry wit. It's refreshing!

The limerick form seems to have got a hold of me these past few days - I'm in a light frame of mind :)

Hi Debra
You were lucky to find that pic to go with your poem... or, did the pic come first?
I never took to smoking. It left such an awful taste in my mouth. I do love the smell of a cigar or pipe though. I just try not breathe too much of that smoke into my lungs. I hear it causes cancer.
I enjoyed your limerick, a nice addition to your NaPoWriMo!
Your poem made me think of an episode of Jerry Seinfeld... Kramer goes on a smoking binge. His apartment is full of smoke. This is the blooper of the scene where he is trying to get Jerry to join him in having a puff. So funny!

Enjoyable read.
I, in silly, younger years, tried to smoke a cigar and didn't last very long - terrible taste and much coughing.
My doctor dad smoked an occasional pipe, though, and it smelled good.
Your budding detective is most attractive and probably never breathed in on that thing. Cute limerick. Your book must be very eclectic. Interesting.

Cheers Katharine :)
I never tried a cigar or a pipe.... cigarettes though - the occasional one in my younger years (Yuck!)
Yeah, my book is a bit of a mixed bag - all held together with black and white artwork! I'm enjoying the process!

Well top banana Anna looks regal smoking her Havana.
I enjoyed your fun limerick plus notes. Great job with its
style. Your words read smoothly with great imagery even
without a picture.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

A fantastic limerick, Debra! I read every Sherlock Holmes book I could get my hands on when I was young. Thanks for all the information, too! Havanas reminds me of Ricky Ricardo of I Love Lucy fame. Such a handsome Cuban. I love your delightful pieces! Sending lots of good wishes!

A very well written limerick this is. All the inflections in all the right points, and a most entertaining read too. Your Author Notes were most useful too!
Much enjoyed and thank you for sharing. :)

Your title here is extremely clever Debra. It concords well with both the illustration you have chosen to examine (in the sense of just a dreamy mood)and your words (in the true sense of a pipe dream). Much enjoyed your limerick. Kate xx

Hahaha
A clever and creative limerick that reflects the essence of the artwork. Nothing but the best for high flyer Anna!
I'd forgotten that usage of smoking a pipe so I appreciated your helpful author notes
Stay safe and blessed
