This is an invaluable write. Elements mentioned will improve my writing in a tremendous way.
Having no writing experience,
world-building is a curious concept. I hadn't considered it in quite the way discussed. I will definitely try the exercise you suggested.

That's great, thank you again, this is all very useful. It is so easy to fall into the same old patterns and I will try some of these ideas out in my next story. Maybe you should put all this together into a book?

Thanks for sharing another bunch of good tips that can go a long way toward improving one's descriptions. Crabs or city chiggers: everyone has heard the first term--but the later, nearly no one. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I sometimes wonder how many of us appreciate how lucky we are to have you, with all the time and effort you put in for us. I hope you gain enough positive feelings from this that you will carry on. I love 'em. Kate xx

Another piece to add to my Gareth file. I'll be doing a lot more of your execises. It's quite an interesting learning curve. Last week I wrote a descrition of our lounge, and each time I read it through, I took out more and more words until it described it all in just a few words. I'll do some more using the helpful tips this new part of your fascinating series. Thank you!! Well done. Sandra xxx

How very kind you are to share this with us. I know many will gain from it. Real writers like yourself. If I ever had an imagination, I lost it in youth. Words and emotions just spill out onto the page with me. well done. Blessings, Barbara

This piece is helpful to me. I tend to have a problem with descriptions. I don't develop scene looks well, I don't think. You did a great job. Shirley

Sometimes it's a good idea to try to lay it all out beforehand, even in bullet form to make sure it all adds up. All the best G

Obi-wan, who is so wise, will you continue to teach us day and night. I am appreciative of the advice given. Maybe one day, I do it somewhat as right as you do whenever you give advice.

I am enjoying your "Show Don't Tell" instructional writing guide. There really are so many instances where the setting can be blown up with a little explicit description, or vaguely implied. Thanks for the posting.
