It is best to keep spare ones. It would not be a great moment in the dark. I I enjoyed reading your poem. And the picture goes great with the story. Thank you for your post. Have a great Easter.

My favorite so far. I love senyru feel of this one, and the picture is PERFECRT with the words - "nary a flicker" Great piece. Good luck in the contest.

This is actually a good thing. True mind rest is my great secret. It allows for creativity and new avenues of thought. Sending you my best today as always and blessings for the contest at the halfway mark.

Very effective! I happen to be a huge fan of what I call "mini-mental-health-moments."
Just dial it down, tune it out and breathe!
My son refers to it as "Mom's " Zen-ing out again."
Smile.
Yes! Yes I am!
Ekphrastic poetry need not be long winded to inspire!
Nice...

Hello Karenina :) Thank you so much for your kind feedback - it's necessary to 'zen-out' now and again!

A delightful 5-7-5, Debra! It made me smile. I think that is what my brain will do . . . repose . . .at the end of National Poetry Writing Month! I enjoy seeing the visual images you choose for us each day. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

These are occasions when we take stock of life and live in the moment, I enjoyed your few words that spoke much about how we should pause occasionally in life, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Love this. An excellent moment to illustrate a temporary hiatus from thought. A required rest.
Many thanks for sharing and congratulations on your milestone post. :))

So glad I hit your milestone post. Congratulations! and what a fine one you have crafted for this special event. I love the lack of colour which ensures that the whole thing is pushed down to the negativity / apathy you would expect from yhe words. Inspired combination.

You did a great job, Debra, with your milestone post.
The picture and words pair perfectly. Great job with
the syllable count per line. I like the color scheme and
the personification of the light bulb.
Respectfully, Jan

This is an amusing shortie. We often think of great thoughts or sudden revelations as "light bulb moments." But the Speaker describes that moment we all dread--when the clear thinking won't come and "nary a flicker." Your message is delightfully conveyed. Rod
