An excellent poem for this contest, good luck. It is a cool thing to write this about your sons-in-law. We never had kids so I don't know the joys that you describe. They sound like good guys, most likely thinking they are lucky to have a mother-in-law, like you. Good job. Terry.

Thanks Terry, You are so sweet! Lol, My mother in-law wasn't the nicest, so I made a vow that I would be the best I could be, and therefore is partly why I wrote this poem.... Thanks for your kind review!

"My Identical Sons in-Law" is an affectionately ironic poem about two sons-in-law who, far from being identical, differ greatly; the exception to their differences is the love they engender in their mother-in-law. That mother-in-law narrates this poem of quatrains each of which describes a difference between the men who have married her daughters. The poem amusingly rides that see-saw of reality in which rational perception has to coordinate with unqualified love.

Thank you Frank! I appreciate your kind review. I needed to make this one light and a little silly, but because mother in-laws have been stereo typed for so long, I wanted to show a different way of looked at it. Lol, however mine was a horror, but she did me a favor by making me vow to be an awesome one someday.
Therefore, I rest my case. Mother in law's can be nice! : )

I love the picture and I like the story. You did a good job of showing their differences. They are indeed very different but they do have some similarities.

I like the ending that they are equally treated.

Happy writing. Good for this contest

This is a very sweet, autobiographical poem, mystery writer. You did well to incorporate all the required words, while telling the fanstory members a bit about your love of family. I like the message that despite their differences, your love for them is identical. Very best of luck in the competition and thank you for sharing.

You have written a great story in a poem. It sounds like the family is well connected. And that is wonderful. You sound like a great mother-in-law.
Thank you for posting a great poem.

I enjoyed this poem and it's whimsical undertone. You did a nice job with the prompt and from your notes, sounds as though it was enjoyable to write. The artwork is appropriate.

This is a well-written, delightful, descriptive, entertaining poem. Though dissimilar physically, in family makeup, what they eat, etc., they are alike in the wonderful ways that count most.

Haha, Janice, as much as most of my poem is true, they both like a lot of the same stuff. And they would never let me cook separate foods. Everything is is real tho. I just needed something light and silly today and I remember how how they always ask who's my favorite this week and I say both as your identical. Thank yÚu Janice, you are the best.

This is lovely and you are all blessed to have such abundant love. My only suggestion is to make daughters and brides plural as there were two daughters involved and they didn't both take one daughter!
eg "Took our daughters for their brides" and rhyme this with
"The other - we were all at their sides."
Just a suggestion. I very much enjoyed your poem. Good wishes for it to do well.
Wendy

When I decided to do this poem, I had to rush a little and I missed a few parts while proofreading. Thank you for catching it. I truly appreciate your help, along with your very kind review.
