You have done a great job giving the reader you life story. I'm right there with you.
We have two sons who've left the nest.
They've both moved on and married.
We now sit back and take a rest
From burdens we have carried.
So we have three nice grandsons now
And two granddaughters, too.
Three weddings coming up. Somehow,
I know we'll make it through.
And when the great grandchildren come,
I don't know what I'll think.
I feel my senses going numb.
I do not dare to blink.

Yes, I hear you. With the blink of an eye, time slips away. Those days go by too fast. The older we get, the faster the days go by. It is funny how we all seem to think about, in regards to thinking our parents are old. I enjoyed reading this great poem you posted.
