What a story! What a father! You have paid him an amazing and worthy tribute here, and I am so glad you found each other. You certainly picked the right man to beg from - how absolutely wonderful that he became your Dad - what a difference that must have made in your life. Incredible story. The only suggestion is that a lot of the names of the music venues and even the musicians don't mean a lot to people outside your country, so maybe could be grouped under "famous places, musicians and singers", and then give the added information in your Notes.

It is very clear how much he loves his father. The writing style gives me the vibes of an older man reminiscing over sepia-tinted memories, which I really like. The narrative somewhat loosened near the very end. If the same sense of poised nostalgia could have been maintained that would have been great. The very first sentence is a great hook!
