Congratulations, Wendy G. This is a well written educational piece. It appears you learned a lot about the culture. I enjoyed your vivid descriptions and sense of humor.

Thank you very much Seville. I am glad you enjoyed that chapter. Some of the chapters haven?t been put into the book yet but you can find others in the Stories section. And the next chapter will be coming very soon.

Thank you Ann! That is such an encouraging review. Greatly valued, along with the six precious stars. Wendy

Wonderful write. I enjoyed all that I learned while reading it. My suggestions are: dialogue gets it's own line. A little confusing the way it's currently written. Also, you may want to break up the longer paragraphs by double spacing.

I can see how some of this adventure could become stressful, like having to get your shopping done and get home before another prayer time arrived, but it's also very interesting to learn about the culture. Thanks for sharing with us, Wendy.

I'm loving your story. This is going to be a great book. You do know how to make it hard to wait for the next chapter. I can't wait to hear about Nancy! On a trip to Greece, we took a short side trip to Turkey, and there i heard first the calls to pryer.

It sounds like you soon slipped into the lifestyle and getting used to the call to the mosque is something I had heard often in countries like Turkey when on holiday, those cardamoms are essential for the curries! Love Dolly x

Thank you Dolly, a great review. Yes, we all love cardamoms in our rice, and curries, to this day.

An excellent chapter, Wendy..It was informative but lively and interesting. You showed many sides of your cultural experience.
I come from Guyana which is a multi ethnic and multi cultural country. Everyone is accustomed to the call to prayer. There is mutual respect for religious beliefs and practices. Mosques coexist with Hindu temples and Christian churches.
I wonder if your author notes about your impression of Islam would be better placed as part of a general commentary, perhaps an epilogue to your write. What do you think?
Thanks for sharing
Stay safe and blessed

Hi Julia, thank you again for a thoughtful review. Yes, there are countries where religions can coexist peacefully and with mutual respect, and it should be so everywhere.
Yes, you may be right. I hadn't thought of an epilogue containing such comments, and it is not essential to the chapter really, so I will definitely give that some thought!
As you see I am a total newbie to writing chapters for a possible book. And of course I am trying to make each chapter as a stand-alone for people who haven't read the background. I probably need to write a small paragraph of background at the start of each chapter as well.
Your reviews are always very helpful and greatly appreciated.

Why don't you make this a Fanstory book, Wendy? Readers can still review chapters as stand alones. But if they are interested they can start from the beginning.
-
Yes, that is what I am doing, but I post them first just as stories because some people are turned off by the thought of reading a book. After they expire, I add that chapter to the book in my portfolio.

I would add, born organizer to your list in the notes.
Interesting, I see that is part three, so I'm guessing more information and context for why is found in the first two parts. This part was written and edited well.

Hi Lancellot, Yes there was a Prologue and two other chapters (in my portfolio if you are interested.) We were living in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and these stories offer a small insight into our family experiences. Thank you for reviewing, and I hope you will continue to follow the stories.

Thank you for sharing another adventure with us. It brought back memories of our chicken man in Germany. He wasn't a German. I do not know where he originated from, but he had a little cart, he moved around, but at the same time everyday parked it outside the Military base and sold chicken. It was the best chicken I ever had. He spoke a little English.
