This is a beautiful poem and anything that allude to a red rose has to have some beauty to it and then ugliness also because there are thorns. I like the poem because it uses the red rose as a metaphor.

Hi there,
I liked this piece. It has a good subtle depth to it and is something I'm sure that most folk will be able to relate to.
All syllables present and correct too which is always nice.

This message packs a punch! With only 15 syllables you have given us something to think about that is the age-old idea of the sweeter the red rose, the more deadly the big thorn it holds inside its stem, thus making a beauty hard to touch with a warning that beauty is only skin deep.
I especially love the last line which says, Life's hard lessons learned! We learn each lesson the hard way it would seem! Sad, but true!
Thanks for bringing up an important lesson to learn in this day of misinformation and fake news!
