Yvonne,

You are a smart lady! That has always been my habit, too. Why bother disappointing yourself again?? hahaha Believe me, I can come up with TONS of ways to do that on a regular basis without having to add more ideas. hahahahaha

Thanks!

Hahah, this is priceless, Yvonne. I just reviewed someone and told them that I always forget my resolutions about two weeks into the new year. LOL. Your verse is fun and makes a lot of sense. Great poem.

Ha ha ha, we make those resolutions and by the end of January our good intentions have gone out of the window as we return to old habits! A fun poem with great rhymes and sentiments, love Dolly x

Are you English Yvonne? This is so easy to read, as is all your poetry Yvonne, I'm with you, I can't remember ever keeping a New Year's resolution...ever, so I'm with you. I love doctors who hand out "You must do this, and that..." also with instruction Manuel, but they die of the same afflictions their patients own, heh heh. Beautifully written Yvonne, HNY blessings Roy

I'm American. But I had my DNA done, and I'm 87% Scots, 11% Welsh, and 2% of whatever. Thank you for the nice things you said. I'm glad my poems are easy to read and understand. You're right about doctors and the instructions. I realized not long ago that all these health nuts die of the same things they warn us against. I'm going to enjoy life and not worry about it.

I enjoyed reading your writing prompt entry. I completely understand. I doubt I'll make a resolution this year, unless I can think of one I won't break during the first week. LOL.

How very appropriate! I gave up on resolutions years ago too as the ones I made I was always unable to keep or did not want to. Thanks for the poem that fits all of us at this time of the year.

I have only ever managed to keep one New Year Resolution in my life and that was when I resolved to write a tanka a day for a whole year. I have since given up the practice but if I must then here goes:

I resolve to make no more resolutions, regardless of the time of year. Which is pretty much the same as you have done in this neat little poem.

Yes, we make them and then we break them. Amazing how this happens and then there are those who try for a while but then comes the battle. "Oh, dang it! I was going to stop that."

I wonder if anyone has managed to keep one all year. Pantygyn Jim did when he wrote a tanka every day for a year.

Great idea! I like the freshness and honesty of your fun poem, and I think I will be like you! Smooth-flowing and nicely rhyming, a fine entry and I wish you success in the contest.

This is a fun way to decide to do away with new year's resolutions! I love your rhyme choices especially all with folderol! Such a creative word is not used much in today's circles but fits the topic very well. My mother used to use words like fiddle dee dee and folderol to grandmother's house we go!
Well written with an apt title saying I'll pass on these silly resolutions! Brava!
