I like your analogy very much that life is like a bridge. How wonderful when we realize as a child that we can have the Lord walking with us every step of the way, a friend that never leaves us no matter what our circumstnces.

I liek the methaphor of the bridge that it's a strong connection with the divine. I like these sentences: "With our conception we entered the bridge of life, a covered bridge. When we were born, we were still on a bridge that was covered to protect us. We remain there until we leave the covering to enter the world of schooling. As we go to school, we are between being covered and uncovered. At school, if we had good teachers, we remain covered. We then go home to be covered once again." Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Patricia,
This is a well done extended metaphor for life. I like the interplay of covered and uncovered, as be dependent and independent too.
It is good that you include faith as a form of covering for the bridge helping you live a better life and happier life.
Keep writing and stay healtly
Merry Christmas

This is a good analogy of our journey through life. If we trust God as we should we are never with covering. but because God covers with his wings as a mother her shelters her chicks. Sometime we feel alone and we need those we can see and touch. We need to be those who support others arround us who may be troubled.

I enjoyed your post today and you've given us a lot to think about. I found one possible error that jumped off the page as I was reading. I believe that you meant to say "bridge" instead of "bride" in this sentence: "With our conception we entered the bride of life...' Nice work though.

This is an interesting concept for life, and our protectors along the way. I too had good parents, and I hated having to leave Mum each day to go to school. After my husband, Tony, passed I realized how much I relied on him, his calm manner, his protection, the way he had of calming me down. I thought of all that as I read. Nicely done Patricia.
cheers,

A good story and a wonderful way of describing ones life and how life develops as we proceed through it I thought this was very clever likening it to a bridge that starts of covered. Well done.

A very poignant and thoughtful review of a lifetime comparing our life to a bridge that we form when we are born to our final passage and the trust in God that keeps us weathering the storms of life.
Well written and powerful thought.
Best wishes,
Mary

This is really moving; and to have the whole lifespan addressed in so small a space, both in the brevity of this story and the length of a bridge. Magnificent.
