Hahaha, it is really quite fit, Debora, and although you will be eliminated it's still worth having entered the contest.
You and your son must have been in stitches. I was. What a great story. Ulla:)))

This certainly gave me a chuckle. I'm glad you did not cut it down as it is really good the way it is written. I mention a typo just so you can fix it. You left the "c" off the word "could" so it came off as "ould." Loved this story.

I still laugh when I think about it. That boy is such a nut! (That boy is 29, but still...)
thanks so much for the catch! I need to trim my fingernails1 I don't know how people with long nails type without missing or adding letters... That's my excuse today, anyway! lol
    Blessings to you!

Yes a great tale to tell how a hacker got caught I imagine this is a true story in which case if it is I love it. I am not that good on with all this technology and I know that the youngsters today are way ahead of anything I can keep up with, but I enjoyed reading this and it did make me chuckle as I could imagine the hackers reaction. Thanks for sharing. Kooky.

You're welcome, KC. :) Yes, it's a true story. I'd have NEVER thought to message a hacker! But there's an advantage to being raised in this generation of techno-geeks, I guess. He's the one I always call when I can't figure out what i've done to the computer or TV. lol I'm with you on that!
    Blessings and thank yu again,

I love this wonderful True Story Flash contest entry. You are the proud mama of a great showman. I like his last words "Okay," He said. "One last message." And he sent, "Oh, come on. Don't be cross. Can't we still be friends?"

    I loved it, too.
We went to the tax office the other day. There was no one else in there and he didn't have a job to run off to that minute. (He owns a construction company, but his crews were doing what they were supposed to do sho he had some free time.) Anyhow, we did our goofy bit together, with him telling about what it was like to grow up with a vision-impaired mom and me rolling my eyes and interjecting my comments.
Sunday at church, one of the ladies that works inthat office asked if we could come back. I asked if there was anything wrong with ur account.
"No," she said. "We all just enjoyed the comedy routine so much! We talked about it all day and the other ladies asked me to find out when you're coming back in."
What a reputation to have in a small town! lol
Thank you so much for the exceptional rating! I know Icannot win the contest, but the ratings have made it worth the post. :)
    Blessings, my brother.

I?m sorry to take so long to get back to this and as a matter fact I have to leave my house at 3:30 tomorrow morning to catch a flight and I?ll be gone for probably close to a week. But I do appreciate the personal story have you and your son and I do remember the piece I had the privilege of reviewing. You are most welcome 🙏.

I enjoyed this, Deb. You have a defray clever son. I can see why you're still laughing. It's amazing that the scammer didn't realize he was the one who was being scammed until the end. Well done!

    Thanks, Mary!
Hey, the book is up in both ebook and print. If you'd like a copy of the print book let me know. It's going to cost 2.40 per copy plus shipping. Let me know if you want one or more and I'll do the calculations for you. I'm excited! It's looking pretty good.
If you want a PDF copy, I can send that and, I THINK I can convert it to epub so it will open on your reading device. I haven't tried it yet, so if you're interested in being a guinna pig... :)
    Blessings and thank you again!

This is the first time I've heard of a conversation with an actual hacker, it just goes to show, hackers aren't the bright after all, just crooks, but your son is pretty fearless, ain't that good. Well done, son, blessings Roy
Typo : The greed(y) guy...

Augh! Didn't see that at all! lol. I'll go fix it.
Josh is fearless, sometimes to his detriment. But he's a good kid most of the time. (Kid... He's 28! But still my kid.)
Blessings and thank you for reading!

That's fantastic!!! I love reading your real life stories! He sounds like such a great kid, indeed! I'm very jealous of people who have such quick wit. Jealous in a good way. Thanks for sharing this! It made me laugh out loud!!

I'm jealous of him, too. I just go blank in moments like that. My little sister asked why he didn't get the new account number and turn it in, but he was having far too much fun. lol
I blew it, though. The word limit for this contest is 100 words. I sorta went over... lol
    Blessings and MANY thanks!

My family and I are a large group of smarta**es. This sounds like something my nephew would do. Too bad we could not see the hacker on the other end.

You did a great job with this informative little story, Deb. I enjoyed reading it. You and your son were hilarious. I hope the hacker got what he deserved. I like the color coding. Your story flows smoothly with great details.

"You never offered me $5000 in real life!" I protested into my phone, but I was laughing and wasn't sure he ould [would ] understand me.

Respectfully, Jan

I messed up, though. It's a 100 word limit for the contest. Oh, well. It was fun to write, anyway! lol
