Oooo! Spooky. I don't know why, but I thought of Sarah Mclachlan's Angel.
So, where were the boys? Do the boys go to a different place because they are boys, or did they go to Hell? Just asking.

Does it end there? It could go on a bit longer.

I want my print to be as big as yours and as dark. How do I get it?

It was a contest with limited words so yes it ends there. They were being questioned to determine where they will be going.

    Thanks so much for reading.

What a horrible way to die. To be killed by a drunk driver who is your father. God would not let them remember that. Or if he did he would let them meet him and forgive him.
Interesting view of heaven as a movie set with wings as wardrobe.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Congrats on placing in the contest.

Thanks Joan... I didn't know if people would get what was happening, but I hoped my message would get across and of course, they will never remember any of the sadness. At lest, I hope Heaven works that way.

Thank you so much. Smiles and hugs, Carol

Don't mention it, Carol. I believe they won't remember it either.

Wow! I didn't see the ending of the story coming like that! What a great job in holding the reader in suspense from start to finish. You did an excellent job with the fast pace of the story, and containing it all in flash fiction. Best wishes in the contest!

Wonderful!! This is really good! The story moved very fast because of the fast fiction, but you got in every little detail so the reader can almost see the girls in the mansion. Great job! Good luck with the contest!

This is a very well and interesting story. You keep your reader guessing until the end.
It is very creative and imaginative. I think your reader also experiences that out-of-body experience.
Good luck in the contest.

Mary

Whoa, this was very enjoyable to read. The dialogue was excellent and, I would give you a sixer if I had one to give. I don't usually go for this type of story but, I had fun reading this.
What a way to go, huh!? Being abused by her father who was drunk and, being molested by the boys, made their lives miserable while they were alive. Thank Heaven they have a chance to start over again! Thank you for taking me on this ride of a flash fiction story.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Jesse

I like the way you led us down another road with reference to the boys and loss of memory. I thought the girls might have been drugged and kidnapped by a weirdo due to the gowns. Nice switch at the end to having the father be an irresponsible drunkard and the girls becoming welcomed to heaven.

Too much heat and humidity to function. Still bad this a.m., with thick fog.

That hurricane won't make it up to you will it? We are in the 90s and lots of humidity.

It could. We're inland, but they can still wreak havoc. I'm hoping it doesn't coincide with scheduled medical. procedure. It could make travel and electricity sketchy.

Yes, this is not the first time this has happened, in fact a lot of people have born witness to this "out of body" experience. But no writer has ever described more perfectly than you Carol, oh yes indeed, an excellent work from the view point of that virtual uninterrupted passing from this "tent" to the the new one. Beautifully written dear Carol, good luck, you deserve it. Blessings Roy

Thank you so much, Roy. My husband had a heart attack as they were taking him off the operating table. They had to use the paddles several times. He told me that he saw it and he saw my daughter Wendy (who had passed). He told me she sent him back to me. I guess that's where the emotions for the story came from.

Great future flash fiction! You write amazing stories. I like that you had the girls witness their deaths, but they won't remember it. Blessings. Carol

Thanks, Carol. I couldn't think of any other way to show it was in the future before the crash... so if they saw it and then forgot it, it would be okay. Thanks for the review. Smiles and hugs, Carol

This is an interesting peak at heaven, as we see these girls who don't quite know yet they have died starting to navigate the afterlife, as if they were still in this one. Its an interesting premise and it works in that the jarring effect of realizing you have not made it through the car crash sinks in and shakes you into your new reality. estory
