This was a very dramatic chapter. I am glad you told me I missed it. Plenty of goings on all over the place. Sad about the house being trashed by the debtors.

I really appreciate you going back and reading that chapter in spite of the fact it was no longer paying and you gave it a six star rating. I am so pleased that you liked it.

Your book is a great idea that will allow your children to go back and relive those moments in life for a long time to come. I only wish that I had been around from the beginning to read more chapters, since I'll never to able to read them all and catch up. Thanks for sharing.

I'm so pleased that you continue to read my book and I am flattered that you wish you'd gotten in on the beginning which started in the 50's when I was very young. It has gotton very long. I'm just to the 90's

Good, then I'll be able to enjoy a whole more! :-)

Heartrending for Connie--you pulled me in--wince-worthy memories of my own failures--I can relate to never wanting to see my exes again, with or without another woman. As always, you leave us on the hook for the next. Great chapter!

Thank you for a great review. I can understand the feeling of wanting to avoid the ex. Any break-up must cause pain no matter whose idea it was to part company.

Beth, I can feel your fatigue over making Christmas. Been there; done that. But it seems your family household was about to shrink, with a few dramas to keep you on your toes. I'm thinking two young women now living together, one who likes to party and one who has a broken heart might spell disaster. Looking forward to the next chapter. Well done.

Thank you so much Judy for a great review and comments. My household will shrink for such a short term, we will hardly notice it. Stay tuned.

The empty nest, I remember it well. It seemed we hardly had anything to talk about when that happened. Jim's job with the government was hush, hush and he was gone so many hours. It was home, in bed; up at four and do it all again. We recreated on weekend with his friends. I was at a loss. Good job, Beth. Nancy:)

Once again, I cannot imagine how many children you have. Is it five? I doubt you had an empty next for long. It seems that the drama was right next door all the time. These children of yours were just beginning their lives and you and your husband were very involved.
I doubt they could have solved any problems without you there to help. What a great example of a mother you are.
My best,
Marie

Thank you Marie. I gave birth to five, but lost one at two months. I have four and you are right. The empty nest wasn't empty long enough to enjoy it. Even now after all these years, I'm still very involved in all their dramas.

Good Morning, Beth....
Your last paragraph sums it all up in a nutshell.. our kids are so eager to get out from under our wing... to go it alone their way ... yet, let there be a storm on the horizon and where do they seek shelter???
I doubt that I will ever completely have that empty nest syndrome... but then I guess as the "lifetime caretaker" it's probably for the best.
Smiles to you, Carol

Thank you Carol. You are right. I didn't have an empty nest long enough to enjoy it. I used to say my children were like boomerangs because they kept coming back. Connie was the only one who didn't come back, but she and her problems were still very much a part of my world.

You did well telling us of how much work you had to for Christmas. I got fatigued reading of what you did
Plus what was going in your family, especially when
Don and Kimberly need to repair to a house that was repossessed.

Thank you for the review and comments. I think we all have stories that need to be passed down to our children. I wish my relatives who lived before me would have left something in writing for me.

You did a good job with this chapter, Beth. I enjoyed reading it. I understand how Christmas (the day) lost some of its appeal with all the work you always did beforehand. I like the idea of Connie and Christi rooming together--hoped that worked out. You always have interesting visitors or activities to share.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan
