Lot's of nice entries, but this one touched my heart. I know, I know...

"All Dog's Go To Heaven."

Just grieves me they go so much sooner than we do!

I cannot agree more with you. By the way, according to Billy Collins, in heaven, dogs write poetry while all the other animals write in prose.

There is nothing more exciting to a dog than to see the master return. What a wonderfully written poem.

Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Your poem underlines the ongoing loss we feel when a beloved dog is not around any more. "Echoes in my heart" is a lovely yet very sad way to describe the emotion.
We miss the dog's greeting as much as he missed the owner and waited to give the waggy-tailed greeting barks.

So true, there is a sorrow that one never forgets, even when getting another animal friend. Thanks for the read and the feedback.
