Your life is full and very busy. I remember having so much company
Visiting us when we moved to Florida. Didn't even have a chance to
Shop for furniture when our friends starting coming down.
Sounds like many came to you for advice, as well as companionship.
Your children seem to be very open and honest with you and that's the best job I've seen a parent do. It is not easy being a mother. Most of the troubles fall on her shoulder. You bear it well.
Very interesting.
My best,
Marie

Thank you Marie, Florida is a place everyone wants to go for a vacation. My daughter had way too much company when she lived in Florida. Looking back at my life, i realize there were a lot of minor irritations and problems, and those are the things I tended to mention, but all in all, they were minor compared to things others dealt with. I loved my life and I'm afraid I come across too negative sometimes. I feel God has blessed with more than I deserve.

A great story. Well written. It's sad when marriages doesn't work out. Things happen and sometimes there isn't anything we can do about it. Thank you for sharing your story. I wish you the best of luck .

Thank you for the nice review and comments. Some people are just too different and life is too short to be miserable.

Years ago, when active in writing Civil War novels, I visited much of what was mentioned. Lookout Mt, etc. I wish to say it was in this fight that Douglas McArthur received the Congressional Medal Of Honor. But, of course, he was Yankee. LOL, It earned the opportunity for a West Point appointment for his famous son. I truly understand the company.
After 3 days some seemed to be like fish. LOL.
Your write always makes me remember the good times with my family.
Best to you Beth.

Thank you so much for the review and the six stars. I appreciate you reading it today in spite of the fact you are very busy with your novel.
Arthur McArthur was Douglas's father. I didn't know about that. He married a Southern girl he met in New Orleans. I'm glad my story reminds you of good times with your family.

wow, your family was a hand full at time and this just reminds me that marriage it's a life time commitment and is not easy to keep it afloat. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Thank you Iza. You are right. Marriage is a lifetime commitment and you have to work at it to keep things running smoothly. I really appreciate the six stars.

You say Carol needed a man like your husband. I would go a step further and say that Carol needed to be more like you...not trying to make your man over, and not resenting his being different from you in many respects.

Thank you for the review and comments. Yes that is true. It was a mistake both of my daughters made, by believing they could change someone to be more like they wanted them to be. They didn't seem to realize they weren't perfect either. You need to be willing to accept a person as they are before you marry them.

I think what you are doing is wonderful. When my first son died at 16, I wrote to him every day in a journal, then tapered down to weekly, monthly, and then tucked it away. I think writing is the best release from grief. So sorry you lost Evan, but so happy you found such a meaningful way to deal with it.

Thank you Susan, I appreciate you support. Thanks for reviewing my story and for your lovely comments. I]m sorry you lost your son at sixteen. The baby I lost was only two months. An older child would be so much harder.

How brave of Carol to share her deepest thoughts in her journals. And how brave of you to read them! I guess she was asking for your support during that very difficult time. Hope she got the spiritual support she needed during that time.

Thank you, Helen. I tried to help her at the time. I realized how this relationship would never work unless something changed. She had spiritual support from several sources but Glen resented those she went to for help. He needed help too and I'm not sure he got it.

I'm always happy to read that despite the family issues you had to deal with, you frequently managed to carve out some family time to enjoy life together. What you wrote after describing the issues Connie's friends had struggled with sums up a lot: "I began to think maybe our dramas were less serious than most."
Errors and suggestions:

I guess we're seeing Carol and Glen's marriage starting to crumble, which is sad. Everyone else seems to be coming along okay, except for Christi, whose stormy relationship with Denny was clearly going downhill as well. I do hope she will have some good years in life, maybe even now. ð???

Mary Kay, thank you so much for your valuable help. Christi still has her share of problems. A lot of them or financial problems. Her way of thinking doesn't mesh with mine, but she doesn't seem to be totally unhappy. I will keep praying for her, as I do all my children. I think only God can reach them and make a real difference in their lives.

You're very welcome, Beth. I can imagine that you're praying for your children... all good moms like you, who believe in the Lord, are doing exactly that, like my mother prays for me (as I also pray for her). I can relate so much to Christi, because I also have some problems that have followed me through life -- yet I do keep hoping, believing, trusting in God. I will pray for her, too. I've been reading Psalm 27, a lot.
Blessings, Mary Kay

I really like the idea of writing from the viewpoint of a memoir, there is certainly a healing factor in being able to remember a loved one by imagining a shared conversation. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing. Later daze.

Very interesting adult themes in this writing, important lessons. First, you never know what kind of problems people have behind closed doors. You can not judge by money or color.
Also, sometimes opposites attract, other times they don't. Marriage isn't always easy. It takes more than some have.
Notes:
She didn't get to come this time, but they (now) had a two year old son.
- recommend removing this word. Not needed.
