Wonderful piece of poetry. I know these things being a father. My children will always complain about their works. But one more thing, we also complain about our children. Could we give them a break? Thanks for sharing.

That's so humorously done! And the pop cans and pizza makes me think of a teenage girl - older than the one in the picture. At least, that's the age when my girls lived with huge messes in their rooms!

Congratulations on the win! Sorry I didn't see this earlier.

Thanks for the congrats! Basal cell ca can be treated with liquid nitrogen. We did that in the dermatologist's office I worked in for years. Will keep your hubby in my prayers.

Haha. When my daughter was a little girl, four or five years old, she truly believed that the "tidy fairy" came into her bedroom at night and quietly put all of her toys, dolls and books neatly back where they came from. First child... I probably thought I was doing the right thing. At about age 8 she came to me with a very serious look on her face and said " Mummy, can you please ask the tidy fairy not to come into my room at night? I think that Santa, the tooth fairy and Easter Bunny should perhaps start to leave my gifts in the lounge room too." Quite puzzled I asked why. " Well" She replied. " I don't like the idea of all these people wandering around my bedroom in the middle of the night whilst I'm sleeping, it's not healthy." Oh! Right! Lol That's when her bedroom began to resemble a bomb shelter! PM

That is the cutest story. I think you should write about it. It would be such a hit as it has so much sincerity to it. Thanks so much for reviewing and stopping by. Have a good weekend.

As I was writing it I thought to myself, ?this would make a good story? I must check to see if I?ve already used it. PM

I think this is terrific - for how skilfully it is written and also for how it captures the divide between a child's logic ("The messy doesn't bother me"), and the dictates of a parent's desire for tidiness and discipline.
Congratulations on your win.

Ah yes, any one with children has been here. Or we remember being this person! I like the poem. Good work! I love the photo. It works well with the poem. Good luck with the contest.

This a clever write using the required words. Children are such little protesters sometimes! I enjoyed this and was reminded of my own kiddos when they were young.

This poem, A Child's Complaint, has all the required words and takes the point of view of the poor child made to labor slavishly.

This is such a clever and well-written response to the prompt. You have incorporated a universal truth in your perfectly rhymed and metered lines and made a delightfully amusing piece. I enjoyed it very much.

This is really really cute! As most moms can relate to their children never wanting to clean anything up LOL remember how long it would take my kids to clean up their messes.
