Finally, the last child to graduate from high school and with good marks.
What a turnaround. I suppose the situation with Christi was improving but not her taste in men. Carol and Glen sound like they are having deep problems and their future looks iffy. But, life keeps on moving for the Selbys.
We owned a printing and direct mail company, so I resonate with whatever you say about work. We finally sold it to The Readers Digest and believe me they had no clue about our company. It will come up in my book but with another name because I don't want to be sued.

How very wonderful for your children that you are filling in the history of your family. I am sure they will be grateful at some point in their lives to relive the past, as you have written it.
This is a great legacy you will be leaving behind. I, too, have been writing books and stories for my child and grandchildren, so they will know who we were in this life.
It's a gift worth giving and you are being generous.
My best,
Marie

Thank you Marie, I'm enjoying the journey of remembering it myself. A could of daughters are reading as I write and they love it. I got into genealogy and I wished my ancestors had written memories of their lives so I'd know more about them than just names and dates.

You look so sweet and otherworldly - and write like a powerjack...enthralling story... I am touched by your reason for writing...this story is well-written and your children will love this...

Thank you so much for stopping by and reviewing this chapter. I am in awe of your comments. They are unique. I've not never been called sweet and otherworldly nor have I been told I right like a powerjack but I think I'm flattered. LOL I hope to see you again.

It's hard when there's no children left at home, but in a way very nice. I am enjoying reading.
I had indicated that I didn't want the job as Department Supervisor. I was also told the company president felt that men would be uncomfortable being supervised by a woman. (both thats can be removed)

Barbara, Thank you for the review and comments. Having them leave home is a little sad and take some getting used to but in the end it is nice not to have to deal with so much drama.

Another good read. I think the only reason I still have SIXES on Saturday is Bob Hartson and Ben Colder not writing. One spag. and she went (with us)to Universal Studios.

Raising three girls, I have seen my share of the Pillsbury guys. Where and why these girls can pick sich beats me. Got to agree with Evan. Sitting around is useless. I could have solved your company's problems in 30 days. It all stemmed from marketing and sales. I have built 3 Corp in my lifetime. Sold one retired one, gave one away. First, I would have never fired the man who knew the business for a greenhorn, second, you would have been in charge of the entire operation because of your experience. You knew how to work with people and get the job done with a smile. This makes room for growth and more sales.
Training the chickens to lay in boxes is better than trying to locate them in the grass.
Well done Beth.

Beth,
Amazing how busy you two are staying even though Evan is supposed to be retired! hahaha I have to wonder if anyone really ever gets to completely 'retire'. This was another well-written chapter and really enjoyable. Thanks!

Can you imagine how boring it would be to do absolutely nothing. Some of the most miserable people I know. thought that was how retirement was supposed be. All they do is complain. I don't have near enough hours in my day. Thank you so much for the review and comments.

Hi Beth, I think you know how much I love reading this. You make it so engaging. It is as if you're addressing me, when I do know it's your husband. Now, there seems to be problems almost everywhere.
Can't wait for what's next. Ulla:)))
