This is a well done ekphrastic poem about dressing for the occasion with the right clothes and the right attitude. I hope she has fun despite the pain. I like how you rhyme the last lines of the tersets.
Congrats on placing second in the contest.

The author's words are lovely, interesting, sad and creative. I pondered on
how so many people hide there pain. I also thought about being kind
because we never know anyone's inner pain. The poem flows and
connects well. The artwork is perfect and compliments these words.

Your 3-6-9 poem is well composed.
The theme resonates well. Often one tries to present a brave face during a time of pain or difficulty.
Well done.
Thanks for sharing your work.

Smiling .... I can relate. A sweet 3/6/9 poem for the contest with a powerful message. One never knows what another is going through or what pain they might be experiencing behind that smile.
Well done.
Blessings

I love this poem. It reminds me of my own mother, who is so enthusiastic for life. She is 83 and active. She loves life like no other and doesn't miss an opportunity to join in an event or help someone in need. This lady in the illustration looks happy. A perfect compliment to a lovely poem.

Hi Jen-(if I may) your last line is very well written as you have put the image of "in her back" to make the reader think of a pain or her past, very well written and best wishes for you contest****kahpot

-Very nice artwork
and presentation, Jen.
-The syllable count is
good, along with the topic.
-Effective imagery and rhyme
as you tell the story of Sadie.
-You show how elegant she
appears with her pearls and her smile,
but little do people know she is
disguising the pain she has in her back.
-Good luck in the contest.
