Your quest is quite achievable. You are a dear person; thus, it is quite easy to befriend you. A lean, sinewy body, depends upon the standards that you have set for yourself, and not necessarily those of society. Intimacy shall follow the friendship. You deserve the best, my friend.

Your descriptions of the lean, sinewy body and intimacy touch me deeply. However, friendship and intimacy are not qualities. Certain qualities are needed to make friendship and intimacy possible. If you dig a little deeper, I'm betting you will find that you have those qualities.
I am also intrigued by your felt need to dig beneath your persona. I would be very much interested in reading a revised version of this writing, if you so choose to revise. Jeff

I suppose that we would all like the things that you've mentioned here. I'm afraid a well toned body is a goal that I'll never attain at this juncture of my life. I have to be satisfied with what used to be. I can still exercise, although it's more to keep disease away than to look good. Ahh, friendship. When I read the comments that were provided, I would say that you've accomplished that goal. I think at least some people have to come out of their comfort zone in order to comment. The fan story family is fairly close knit and I think there is a friendship that is born out of our love of writing and reading and there is a respect for the authors who put themselves out there, baring their souls at times. Intimacy.... hmmm... how do you define intimacy? Is it the love that two people feel for each other that leads to white hot passion, or could it be the joy of just being in the presence of another person you admire and enjoy the company of? If you are looking for intimacy, I hope you find it, whatever it may be. Thanks for your words, they give me something to think about.

The threshold of nirvana...I love your perspective, Bill, and though I am not sure I agree with it, I appreciate it nonetheless.
I find these attributes as something achievable and worthy of my striving for.
So I will stop at nothing, or practically nothing, to gain them. If it is nirvana, then so be it! Thank you for your honesty with your perspective. The challenge is an honorable one, and I appreciate it.
