Memories, especially memories of a great love, are bitter sweet..We shed tears but we still cherish the memories. You found the perfect concrete imagery to help this senryu resonate with readers. And, as always, perfect flow.

Well that is sad. So much to consider in this fine senryu. What happened to the lover? Were the poems of love written by him/her? Were they never delivered?

Sometimes those tears are happy ones found in those old books and diaries! And yes, often females keep those petals of flowers from previous social events they attended.

What a beautifully presented senryu, with such a somber message, love is as much about choosing the right direction as it is about being at its mercy, but not subject to it. Well done Gypsy, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Oh, that's so sad. There is a love relationship that is no more whether from death or end of the relationship, but the love was real at one time as were those flowers which are soaked in tears.
