The way you are telling this story makes it compelling. What a business it is to get the arrangements perfect for a wedding. I've never heard of a rehearsal dinner before!

Thank you for the review and comments. Wedding rehearsal dinners are the custom in this country. The bride family is supposed to pay for the wedding and the grooms family the dinner. It doesn't always work out that way.

Aw, Beth, what a disaster. But, I wasn't impressed with Kimberly not talking to you about how many of her friends she wanted to invite, that was a lot to put on you. And, like you, I thought what Jane did writing what the gift the person had to bring on the invitation was really tacky. Your pour hubby, in agony and in the hospital. You had a lot to deal with and on your own. But, being the heroine you are, you survived and did your best. Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you for the review and comments. If you can't be the heroine of your own story, when can you be? Just kidding. The way my mind works is get nervous over small things but calm down over the really big things. I got completely calm after my husband's accident and was able to feel all those people and play hostess.

I would have freaked out! Lol. Yes, definitely a heroine!!

Beth,
Here I was...reading along about marriage plans, showers, dresses and Evan getting comfortable walking in his suit and then bam! Oh, I'm so
sorry, but you don't have regrets and that is one very difficult situation
to be presented with. You were a true brave hostess and strong wife.
Before I read the ending...I highlighted this part:
"As the wedding grew closer, Kimberly and Don found a picturesque little church in a beautiful mountain setting. The church was in a rural area of Georgia, which was hard to find without a map. Don wanted the two of them to leave the reception in a hot air balloon. I was thankful when he was told the balloon couldn't go up from that location, because of the trees. Instead they hired a man with a beautifully restored A-model convertible to drive them away."

It is such a shame that events in our lives can be both painful and yet a blessing. The pain of losing a mate then the next day attending a wedding is so special. Have a blessed weekend.

Not at all good. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about that wedding. I think if it were me, I'd have postponed it, but never really sure unless it's truly me. I know they went to a lot of trouble.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. If I'd been the one in charge, I'd have postponed it indefinitely. Some of the things going on seemed like warning some signs of future problems.

Oh my, Beth, what a disaster. I commend you for your perseverance through such bad happenings. I'm not sure how I would have reacted in such a situation. You must have been so frazzled. You certainly had a lot happening and told it well, in this chapter.

Thank you Ralf, It did turn into something of a disaster for my poor husband, but I calmed down and did what I needed to do. I get uptight over the small stuff but seem to do okay in a real crisis.

I can understand your need to get all this down and clear your head. It is a lot to keep to yourself. I realize you must feel that there were too many people to please, and you were torn with all the responsibilities on your shoulders.
I feel so badly for you. I can't imagine what you went through.
This story was written so well, and I could feel your heart.
My best,
Marie

Thank you Marie, I appreciate the review and nice comments. I don't want anyone to feel bad for me. That happened so long ago and once it was in the past, we all laugh about it now. It's just something that makes and interesting story. I see you've been on fan story a while. I hope to see you again.

Awww, what a sad story, though I guess it was more bittersweet as you got to be a part of your son's wedding. I'm so sorry your husband broke his hip, how painful, and how sad he must have been to miss everything!
That picture at the beginning looks absolutely yummy!! Great photograph.
Take care,
Rhonda

My husband's broken hip was the big disaster. You did see that didn't you? He had lay in the hospital bed and miss the wedding. Thank for the review. My husband could eventually walk again.but I'm not sure all those things weren't omens. The marriage was stormy and after years ended in divorce.

What a nightmare, Beth! Jane and Kimberly sound like double trouble to me. They do take a lot for granted and seem to spend your money as freely as their own. Poor Evan. I can't imagine what I would have done. Well done. Nancy:)

Thank you for the review and comments. Yes it turns out they were trouble. Jane was bi-polar and I think she had other mental problems. Kimberly was too much like her mother, but we worked around their problems for a while for Don's sake.
