Perfect rhymes, rhythmic flow, word count, and clever topic. What's not to love. I enjoyed the bounce and brevity of thought and think you have done a marvelous job with this restricted word contest. - Wendy

Hello Mary :)
I enjoyed reading your 20 word poem.
It flows well and has a good meter and rhyme scheme.
I like the alliteration of 'lengthy lists' and your theme is appealing :)
Good luck on the contest.
Best wishes, Debra

You certainly squeezed a lot into your twenty-word limit. I like the way you accounted for the different ways that words are useful to us in everyday life, and I particularly liked the last two lines.

I love the playful pattern and rhyming of your poem:"Words matter-
Very true:
Clever patter;
Points of view;
Lengthy lists
Of things to do;
Letters saying,
"I love you."" Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

I really like your choice of words, expressing various things for which words are used. Your poem is clever, the lines are cute and bouncy, and your rhymes work well. My only question is why you changed the rhyme scheme from ABAB to CBDB, instead of rhyming the fifth and seventh lines.

    Thank you so much for your lovely review, Michele. I didn?t notice that I was changing a rhyme scheme until you pointed it out. I simply wrote the whole thing as it occurred to me. I liked the change in pattern at the fifth and sixth . lines. which I think saves the poem from being too predictable and choppy. Actually, I thought of making it a four-line verse -AAAA. Thanks for your thoughtful comments.

    You're very welcome, and believe me, I was expressing curiosity (which you put to rest) and not complaint. I truly enjoyed your poem.

This is a fun lost and in purple. I love you is the most important words we can ever say.

I have a deep purple kitchen. Yeah... It's true. A fun write in only 20 words.

Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes for the upcoming contest,
Sal XOs....

Great list of words! Yes, especially the last line. It's so important to express love both with words and deeds and listening. Great rhymes in your brief 20 word poem! Best wishes in the contest!

This 20 word poem about words, uses its twenty words well. The rhyming adds to the effectiveness of the theme. Love the artwork accompanying the words. An enjoyable read.

This is a fun poem, Mary, paired with complementary artwork. You have certainly beaten the contest deadline! I like the rhythm and rhyme. Harkens back to a time when people typed and wrote letters. Words do matter. But do emojis and acronyms like LOL matter as much? Not to someone who loves to peruse the dictionary. Good luck in the contest!
