This is an exquisite sonnet, Amada. I can't imagine the great sorrow you feel, yet still your sonnet is filled with hope, and is as uplifting as the sunbeams in your couplet.
Your metaphor development is apt and you metre and rhyme is pristine, and I truly enjoyed you feminine endings in lines 10 and 12. Right on the edge of two stressed syllables, yet it works beautifully well, and adds lift.
Superb all around sonnet, and I look forward to many more from your quill.

Excellent first Shakespearian Sonnet. It's such a melodic form. I can't write it but I do enjoy reading it. I hope this is fiction...it's so sad. I can't even imagine loosing my grandson. Well done!!

I know nothing about how a sonnet should be written, but I know a lot about losing children and grandchildren. the last couple days for some reason I have written about my 4 yr old son. I can feel your loss and the pain you carry, but most of all, your words are filled with love. you know he is in a better place, but that does not remove the grief. I love the comparison of the robin to your grandson. And your final couplet is stellar. There are bits and pieces of your sonnet that could scan a bit more smoothly, but the important thing is you have written this beautiful offering from your heart, and that is where all excellent poetry resides.
