Amaya,
Thank you for your beautiful sonnet, dedicated to your beloved grandson.
It's very poignant and touching. It is very difficult to lose someone; knowing their with the Lord does help ease the pain.
Exceptional work, Amaya.
Good luck with all your writing.
Blessings,
Cindy

Beautifully done, for in form and sentiment. It literally made me cry. I am so sorry for your loss, especially one so young. The sonnet is exquisite in form, with the turn after the first two stanzas. I'm glad you wrote a sonnet for Anthony.

Hello Amada :)
Your sonnet is beautiful and I enjoyed reading it very much.
The rhyme and meter are absolutely perfect and the words are so heartfelt.
It is tragic that your grandson was so young when he died. I'm sorry for your loss.
Best wishes, Debra

Heartwrenching--stunning memorial--powerful and devastating--imagery ranges (appropriately) from gorgeous to graphic--crashed on cruel cement--unforgetttable.

Hello Amada,
You've written a beautiful sonnet for Anthony, a Shakespearean sonnet, no less. The best!, with a wonderful couplet that soars, like the robin:
"So many sunbeams shining as your gift."
the rhymes and meter are perfect.
I think he's smiling.
Definitely six stars.
Best wishes.
Robert

PS I would add a comma: I'll see your smile[,] I dare say[,]

Firstly, I'm so sorry you lost your grandson at such an early age. That must have devastated you and your family. Your poem is a beautiful sonnet dedicated to that child. We do remember those loved ones that have passed over, and with each memory, so a little smile can warm our souls. I loved your poem, well done. Sandra xxx

This may be your first Shakespeare's sonnet, but you have done a wonderful job with it. The personal message conveyed is powerful and heartfelt. Your personal and loving connection to your grandson, the subject of the piece, is clearly evident. Thank you for sharing.

Sending tons of prayers, loving light and healing hugs.
So sorry to hear of your suffering.
Intense grief happens when we have intense love. Your heart is lucky to have had such great love, dear.
Your sonnet is beautiful and touching. Eloquent and expressive. Very fine rhymes! Especially applaud unspent and cement.

Outstanding phrasing here:
wheels crashed on cruel cement.

Favorite lines, closing couplet:

But now you are an angel; high you drift.
So many sunbeams shining as your gift.

A few suggestions:

I watch a morning robin swoop and soar--
M(m)y grandson died; now he is everywhere ...
When young(,) he wished to reach the further shore;
in laughter, raised his arms so high right there.

One night in March, wheels crashed on cruel cement.
Bless(ed) be all those who meet their Lord and face
to face converse with Him, their light unspent.
Young Prince, your life was brief, a touch of grace.

But still today, years gone, your song I hear;
the rumble of your boots lives on my stairway.
When I extend my arms, I see you clear(,)
and in my dreams, I'll see your smile(,) I dare say

But now you are an angel; high you drift.
So many sunbeams shining as your gift.

Also, the enjambment in the face-to-face line is a bit awkward...but it grows on me on second read.

Your sonnet is special, fueled by great love, which the reader can feel in and between the lines.

VERY TOUCHING!

Condolences and prayers, sweet lady.

Blessings,
rd
