Gripping--brilliant narration through dialog--this could work as a short script--stunning twist turns the tables!

typo: Pricilla=>PRISCILLA interrupted, "I'm confused.

Super job with this one! We just dread those gossips and this one didn't know the goings on in her own household while she spread rumors about others. Hope you do well in the contest!

Comments:
"Haven't seen your boy around lately? (seems more like a statement than a question, unless the question mark was to show an upspeak intonation.

Proverbs 16:28 Romans 1:29. In this case, the sower reaped what she hand sown. It was a shame that she lost her child in the process. Excellent tell.

Wow - Thank you for those kind words and for the shiny stars. Yes, that's exactly where my mind was this morning - people reap what they sow. Tragic but true! So kind of you to read and comment on my contest entry. Smiles and blessings to you!

Talk about the irony of gossip it was Priscilla's own son who came to a sticky end, not the one she was gossiping about, which I suppose is "poetic justice" before one judges another's household, one's own should be in order. Well done, blessings, good luck, blessings Roy
Typo : In a card game in (a) hooligan's back room,

Roy, thanks for reading and commenting on my flash fiction entry. Unfortunately, we often find ourselves facing the same situation - like the pot calling the kettle black. Hooligan's back room is the name of the place where the card game was taking place. Have a great day!

Why is it that parents are the ones who always hears it last. Blinded to the truth sometimes or reather turn their heads to reality.
This write tells it like it is.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. Yes, many parents tend to believe "not my kid" and miss the signs of what's really happening. Appreciate your kindness.

Great story. Love the dialogue between the two women, the wording and cadence is just right.
And, the ending is a surprise - and a pleasant one!
Good luck in the contest.

Wow, this is quite a surprise! Your story really surprised the reader.

The roles were reversed. The gossiper's son was actually the gang leader (the bad guy, so to speak), and Trevor is the good guy. I didn't see this coming. Great job!

You inadvertently left out the "s" in Priscilla in the below sentence.

" A young boy raced down the street toward Pricilla and Tricia, screaming and waving his arms. "

Good luck in the contest.

What a sad, sad write this is. i think it is more os a comentary on some of the real life issues that many families deal with as well as the fact that gossip often ends up in the life of the gossiper eventually.

Unfortunately, you are right. Too many families live with this hanging over their heads every day. Wondering what their children are involved in and what might happen to them. It is a sad situation. Thanks for reading and the review.
