Very well written and you have weaved a picture of great detail and focus. I particularly like the line regarding the owl. Some symbolism maybe or maybe just a great detail. The words you choose create an image; musty leaves, noble trees, lofty hills. I enjoyed reading this and I look forward to reading more of your writing.

Wonderful little poem in the pastoral romantic tradition. Nice long languid lines chocked full of colorful images of clouds and mountains, colored leaves and stars and moonlight really created a nice peaceful mood. estory

The autumn is probably my favourite season, with all the changing colours and harvest bustle. I even like it when the trees are bare, they have a different kind of beauty. I've never seen a snowy owl, I'm sure they are beautiful. Your poem has so many lovely images bursting through each line, Janet. It was a real pleasure to read. :) Sandra xx

and the alternating rhymes blend into the lines perfectly.
I like the positive feel of autumn as integral to the cycle of life.,
Yes, spring will once again return, building on autumn's bounty.
