So that is what it is like at your house when the first of the month rolls around. With the Covid virus I bet more people actually stay in the basement under the stairs when the first of the month rolls around. You have come up with a close to the truth story here. Great job.

You made me smile and unfortunately this will be a very real fear for many people as the economy has crashed, but there was nothing but good news on the radio today as they reckon there will be a turn-around by the Spring and we will be able to get back to normal then, a fun post keeping us hanging on until the end, love Dolly x

Damommy, you have a wonderful sense of humor. I love this message/story and I can relate to it so much. I dread paying bills, it's the pits!! It has to be done, but you don't have to like it. This is a wonderfully piece that kept me in dispense. The sad part about paying bills, IT HAS TO BE DONE. I love the imagery you used to show how you tried to hid in the basement. Well done.

Oh the bills, the bills! Only one vowel different from Quasimodo's famous remark but they could drive you mad demanding to be paid, and you can't even swing on them like quasimodo did on the bells.

I always hated paying bills until I could do it online. I still hate it, but it's easier and quicker. When my last son was still home, he would make out the check and I would sign it. He enjoyed doing it that way. 8-)
