Ciao mystery poet..I gave you your 3 th vote.
You had some tough competition but in the end I chose your poem because I just loved how you shared a moment of your past with us ..
I love your description of the storm
Lightening scratched the sky.. is my favourite line
Your words drew a vivid image in my mind
Your poem only gets better when unexpected help appears ( also usually it's the lady in distress that needs saving .. nice change )
A howling wind tries to snatch her umbrella
Lightning flashes
the western hawk rakes
her honey blonde hair,
I was swept away by your narrative , I wish I could write like that ... writing is your passion..that obvious
I' m a late starter .. only started writing two years ago.. but in my limits it's becoming a challenging and rewarding hobby ..

How many times I have left my house without my brolly and regretted it. I have been caught out by storms over and over and you described my plight here, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thank you, Dolly, for taking the time to read and comment. I always keep a brolly in the car. I learned my lesson.

Quite beautiful, a lovely memory of friendship, which makes one overcome the natural disinclination to venture into such a storm, but does so, for the sake of a friend. Well written.
