I do not know how I missed this post and was delighted to find it and carry on with the saga. I agree that you and the children were better off in the city for the financial schooling situation.

Hi Beth, I simply love this and the way you tell your story with such simple truth. I love it. You describe exactly what so many of us have gone through but in your words, your story becomes unique. Ulla:)))

Beth,
I have been enjoying this storyline and I'm repeatedly telling you that I'm proud of you for undertaking something of this magnitude. What I want to pat you on the back for TONIGHT is that you are dipping into alllll of it-- even the less-pretty parts. That's something important that young ones of today need to hear about - a LOT. A marriage is not all fun and roses and laughter throughout - there are ups and downs, but we are diligent and faithful to keep working at it.
One note:
--> Christi's and Don's (birthday) was so close to Christmas
Thanks!

Thank you so much, Robyn, for the review and delightful comments. You are right. Good or bad, I'm putting it all out there. Life for everyone has it up and downs. Everyone that reads this knows me better than most of the friends I see daily. Thanks for noticing that I should put in the word "birthday".

Dear Beth, at least you were conscientious parents and wanted to do the very best that you could to ensure that your children had a good education, would develop their talents and use them well.
I hope this book of memories that you are writing will always be treasured by your children; so that they will know why you did the things that you did; like nagging Carol to come out of her room.

Hi there, Beth. My o My, you have a mixture of stories, some delightful others sad in this chapter. Well done from strt to finish. I thought this part was so tragic.
"Some incidences did occur there which were sad. One of the regular customers, who Carol knew well, died of a heart attack. Then two of her co-workers died tragically. They were both cutters, who actually made the doughnuts. The first one who died was married but cheating on his wife. He was on the highway with his girlfriend, when they came upon an auto accident. He got out of his car to investigate and was hit by another car and killed."
Life is strange, isn't it?
Good job on this, Beth. Bless you.
ps. Lovely family picture. Bob

Thank you Bob, I do appreciate you review and comments. I know I'm making them too long. I remember too much. If I ever get through writing this biography, I'll try doing some fiction which might be more the kind of things you like.

Yes, I remember. I read all of that one and I loved it. That is sort of what inspired this one.

I do most of my reading on the computer but if I decide I need a hard copy, I'll let you know. One of these days, you autographed work may be very valuable.

It sounds like all your children are very talented in the arts. I wonder if they ever pursued it? Guess I have to keep reading and find out, won't I, lol. It'll be interesting to see how the farm dilemma turns out.
Your chapter is very well-written, interesting. I look forward to reading more. Lovely family picture.

Carol celebrated her seventeenth birthday in February of 1978. (I know I've been following you through the years but it doesn't seem possible that Carol is 17 already. Where did the time go?)
I can tell you were going through tough times.

Thank you for the review and comments. I've written so many words since I started this story that I feel like she should be older by now. I have enough words for two books already. LOL As far as tough times, they didn't seem that bad to me. I hope I'm not just telling the negative things that happened. I thought life was good. I was very happy and I would do it all again, if that was possible.

Your dedication to your family paid off as they grew into good solid people. They all seem so talented in the arts and music. The portrait is very nice and shows a great deal of happiness. You are a very attractive woman. I'm sure the dilemma about retiring to the farm was front and center for a while and would cause a lot of dissension. Getting to this point took a lot of good decisive work.

Thank you so much for the review and nice comments.
I really appreciate your help with things you find that need changing. I take your expert advice because you are always right. I tend to put words in that would be better omitted.
