Very well stated. I find it incomprehensible that, Bible loving Christians, have not figured out that God allowed differences in skin color and language, customs and lifestyles are simply a way of finding out who among his so called believers could pass the simple test posed by Jesus when he said that the second greatest commandment was to love your neighbor/brother/fellow man, as you love yourself. Fail to do that and you fail one of the most simple tasks that man has been given. That failure has resulted in almost all of the deaths that have occurred since the dawn of mankind, strating with Abel, Adam and Eve's second son.

Wow! Nice tug at the heart strings, making me realize about the extremes. My favorite lines: otherwise, we will live and die
without knowing true and deep peace.
Show reverence for life of all kinds
whether plant, animal, or human being

There is no room for taking anything to the extreme
A good idea gone terribly wrong was yesterday's song

A very well-written poem about doing our best to be kind and friends to everyone in our path. To be a friend to someone is one of the best things we can do and always be kind too.

This poem, Taken to the Extreme, seems to be sending out the message of tolerance that allows us all to be us, and let others be who they are, while we all grow together.

I read with much interest your poem. Unfortunately, because of my eyesight i can read better on white on black background and white letters. I Reacting positively to taking on responsibility is a way of being genuine and true
to oneself, as well as otherslike these lines the most:

-A well written poem, Jesse,
with many good images and thoughts.
-It is important to be kind and
to appreciate the things and
people around us.
-I like your idea about
the ideas gone wrong
and "yesterday's song."
-You also make good use of rhyme.
-A very good concluding verse, too.
-Well done. Have a good evening
and week ahead.

Taken to the Extreme
by Jesse James Doty

Hello, Jessie James,

A very nice poem about love and peace. It reminds me of buddhism philosophy. I think we need this kind of thinking.

Excellent advice in this well written poem. The last stanza is especially wise.
Make a difference--
take care of your sisters and brothers
in spite of the history that blocks compassion;
let love be in fashion once again---

Very wise words Jesse.
Blessings
Janet

I love your poem, Jesse, especially the last stanza!
"Make a difference--
take care of your sisters and brothers
in spite of the history that blocks compassion;
let love be in fashion once again---
not only be a lover, but also a friend
you will recover all the time you spend in the end"

That is exactly how I feel, as well! We need to take care of each other and not let divisive ideas separate us!
Really excellent poem!
Sue
