A profound and sad look into a life I'm glad I left behind. Incredibly sad image of a person trapped in a cycle of dispair, so keen to get out but held there by the very thing they're trying to stop.

Your words have captured the soul of an addict. I can not imagine giving up everything for drugs. But I know it is an epidemic all over the world. You have expressed well the craving, the high, and the remorse. Well done.

How sad! To throw ones life away like this is unthinkable! Your poem shows what the drug addict craves and how he will do anything to get a "fix". So many are like the man in the poem and some are just kids. I hope others will see the dangers of drugs when they read this. Hugs, V.A.

Whoever the person you are writing about, they are indeed a prisoner of drugs, but they can be set free. I truly hope someone intervenes and helps them before it's too late. You emote feelings brilliantly.

Stuck inside a circle of existance, you have portrayed the want and need that causes self loathing which in turn causes the need, but deep down underneath, is a soul that wants to break free. A good write that echoes many that want to break free from their habit. U :)

A very deep and dramatic trip into the darkest corners of addiction and self-hatred.
Very few people understand that drugs/alcohol abuse is a self-medicated therapy to stop thinking. A way to make the demons disappear, for a time.
