My son is also named Ryan and sardonic; so, this was especially touching.

I liked your philosophical bitter-sweetness. I especially enjoyed the phrase "a strand of his wit, so deadpanned".

Thanks for sharing your memories.

All my children here this weekend, but Ryan had to leave early and we are missing his wonderful humour and giving presence. Yes, it is bittersweet; we must let them go with all our love. So happy you liked this poem and it resonated with you. Warmest regards, Sue

Very nicely penned piece. Great content and good rhyme scheme. The flow is also very well done! Loved it. Great work. Hugs and smiles, Susanne

Sixteezkid,

I like the chain rhyme you employed in this poem - rhyming poems are my favorites; also like the story contained within it. I too said goodbye to my son today. Wonderful to have him in my house if only for a few days.

Nicely done.

Duane

Yes, we'll take a brief time, if that's all we can get! So glad you enjoyed this piece. Means a lot to me. With warmest regards, Sue
