SIXTEEZKID,
This poem touched my soul. Tears are streaming down my cheeks. It takes talent to make me feel this way.
The theme was awesome. I am so sorry that your father is gone.
What a wonderful tribute this is. I do not hand out 6-stars to my friends here---you must earn them! And that my friend is what you did!!!!!
I cannot wait to see what you will have in the future.
There was no SPAG that I could see.
Love you,
Oatmeal

Nostalgic, filled with such a memory of music and love.
Your images snap to life, with the names, the tunes, and the joy.
Very well written, great rhymes, and lots of love.

Lovely story of love and tender memories that you have shared with the reader.
The flow is smooth and the rhymes are well written also.

Oh, what a beautiful instrument, Banjo. Your verse almost brought me to tears. I am sure, you have so many good memories about him, and now he is in good hands - with the angels, probably playing for them. Beautiful, beautiful verse, and a momentous tribute to your father. I am very moved by it - and God bless you for writing it.

I REALLY HATE TO ADMIT THIS, BUT I AM BEGINNING TO ENJOY POETRY. I LOVE THE RHYTHM, AND THE WAY YOU SUCCINTLY, AND SO BEAUTIFULLY SAY SO MUCH WITH SO FEW WORDS. IT TRULY IS A GIFT.
I'M NOT AN EXPERT, BUT SPEAKING FROM A PERSONAL ENJOYMENT STANDPOINT, THIS IS A WINNER. THANX FOR SHARING. EL

You know, Liz.....I have found throughout my life (when I actually had to verbalize so much (business, children, you name it), that to whittle the words down to the bare minimum worked the best. To apply it to poetry is even more difficult, yet challenging. I am SO glad to hear that you are starting to enjoy it. Believe it or not, even a year ago, I had zero desire to even read poetry....and now I'm writing it???!!! Never say never as the saying goes. Thank you so much for your most uplifting and kind words. And your very generous review. (hey, this reply is not very succinct- ha!!!) Warmest regards, Sue (p.s. - write something...this site is such a help)

What fond memories you have of your father and his music. Did he pass down the interest in music to any of his children? Good luck if this is for the contest. I didn't notice any errors. Terror

I enjoy reading your account on your dad love for the banjo. Your details brought the poem alive for me. I have love the sound of banjo music whenever I do get a chance to hear it which isn't much these days.

This was a nice tribute to your dad. Your verses all followed the same format to deliver this poem. Your world selection made this very easy to follow along. I could not find any errors. Thanks for sharing.

I can only imagine the fun you must have had gathered around your dad as he would "pick and grin" that Gibson banjo! A treasured memory, and presented a well-written tribute to your father.
