Of course the black man was accused and the real murderer went free.
you have 2 good interconnect lines with imagery and a good satori also with imagery, a kigo. The only think I'm not sure of is where the mountains (isn't that the topic this week?) comes in at.

Even though Mamie possibly "risked" her life by being a little on the "loose" side, some killings were blamed on the blacks from time to time. And excellent Haiku Dean, as part of the haiku group, well done, blessings, Roy

Wealth and prestige verses poverty and mistrust. The poor servant man was fighting a no-win situation I'm afraid.
