Indeed the optimistic perspective is the road to travel and I can say that from experience.
The glass is half FULL I say! Nicely written poem about having a bit of faith and how it is sometimes discovered in unexpected places...especially when you give of yourself. You then find faith in and through others.
I truly believe what goes around comes around in so many other wondrous ways and ten fold, if you do it right haha
Most inspiring. Well done! You've certainly penned hope here and then some!
Cheers P

Hope is lost and no good without action, I agree and like the message. I think this is a great hope poem. I liked the painting as well and both painting and poem go well together. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

Hello, This the sort of poem that gives me food for thought. I will agree that to give hope to others is really good. To have a little hope one self if in dire straits is a positive thing though. Optimism never hurts. Good luck in the contest. All the best. Ulla

What an interesting theme advocated through this poem. I like what you say, pure hope of improvement or better circumstances in itself is insufficient unless followed by action however hope is nonetheless quintessential to survival. Considering our unique ability to self reflect and question our own existence, hope is that single thread that ensures our existence. Moreso without hope there would be no progress, no improvement, no changes. Sometimes it is hard to make that immediate physical change, take direct action. However, instilling hope within oneself will ensure that at least eventually, proactive action will be taken. Thank you for sharing your thought provoking piece.

Interesting commentary on hope. I like your idea that hope works when you provide it for another person. It builds on the idea that if you are feeling down, depressed (hopeless?), one way to get out of that funk is to help someone else. Buy someone a meal, or call a friend who needs to talk. Beyond that, I'm not sure I agree that hope does nothing. I think it's having hope, even a few shreds of it, that gets people "off their ass" and into action - doing something to better their situation, whatever that might be. I think hope is essential, actually. The artwork reminds me of the Grapes of Wrath...

Dear Mystery writer,
I am impressed. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The reference to a homeless man was great, feed him and see how he eats, hope is best when you give it away. And yes, it would be great if we all thought in this way.
Best wishes in the contest.
:-) Carolyn

A great writing prompt, and the production of a wonderful sentiment for hope. Your presentation on the green background lends well to the artwork that accompanies. No changes needed from my perspective.

The 5th stanza is the one I liked the best because when one helped and gave
them a meal, it gave that person hope. You see hope as more of a more concrete act to be affective. I see hope in a different light. The rhyming is good and you were able to expresses your self .

The first verse in this really made me laugh! So many think good things fall from the sky. I love that you portrayed the need to get out and make something happen instead of waiting for it to knock on your door. It's a great poem and philosophy. Thank you for sharing.
