A very thoughtful poem of Jesus Christ wanting nothing but small comforts in his life, yet was willing and gave up his body for all of us from his death until the end of time.

I will have to research as to why we call Easter: Easter but I think a better name for the holiday would be "The day of unconditional love" If God can show this kind of love for us then we should try to do the same for each other. I love the words that you wrote.

Amazing poem, and so appropriate for the eve of Good Friday. Your message of selflessness, freely giving love and appreciation is glorious. My favorite part is:
For love will walk that extra mile
love only wants to give;
I need to remember that.
Also, those lines can apply to everyone worldwide, no matter religious beliefs.
I really enjoyed your inspiration!

A very fulfilling piece of poetry for Easter, Roy. It is a great submission to the contest, and is sure to be a heavy weight. I liked your many references to the teachings of the bible, The lesson of turning the other cheek from both Matthew 5:39 and Luke 6:29.
Corinthians 134-8: Love suffers long, and is kind. And, the lesson that God so loved the world that he gave his only son so that whoever believed in him would not perish.
Excellent lessons for this very reverent time of year.
Great use of quatrain and Ballad meter, and ABAB rhyme scheme, which makes this not only a good poem, but one that could easily be set to music.

You celebrate Jesus way for bringing us to see that our sins are not engraved in stone, but we freely take our path to Heaven - our sins forgiven. For a special day, God will be there to bless us in our hearts. Regards and Best Wishes for a fine Easter

A great Easter poem. We have to forget our selfish needs and love others unconditionally. It costs nothing to share love to everyone who crosses our path.

Great last line. We are so full of ourselves aren't we? Pride is said to be the greatest sin of all. I strive to find myself better than someone else in so many ways while they likewise are doing the exact same thing to me. We can and should learn so much from Christ's example as Humbled Himself so therefor was He exalted. Best of luck in the contest. Loren
