Barbara, This is a very well written post about how to deal with a mother in law. I could have used that 37 years ago when my marriage to Tom started out. I was born in Tennessee. He was born to parents living in PA. This was a whole new world to me. She hurt my feelings so many times at first, but somehow we got to where I would call and talk to her and we had many good phone conversations. I have done a lot of praying for them and for myself also. Thanks for sharing. love and blessings, Teri

Interesting and disappointingly accurate portrayal of family life. I'm glad it was sorted out later, but it usually is the tiniest of things! Thanks for sharing.

Not taking these words personally helped you rise above it and prosper. Sometimes people say things and don't mean to hurt us and they are careless with their words. Great advice here to pass onto your Grandchildren, much enjoyed Barbara, glad you are much more confident now, love Dolly x x x

I love the advice you focus on in this story. It can be hard to take insults lightly, especially when they come from family. I think it's helpful to also remember that what other people think about you is usually based on their own reflection of themselves.
I noticed a few punctuation errors and omissions - missing punctuation after the greeting and the apostrophe for plural birthdays. Also, some focus on imagery would help the story truly blossom in my mind so it sticks!
Overall, this is a great idea to collect stories for your grandkids and is a sweet way to teach them important life lessons!

I have made the corrections. Thank you for catching them. I really can't go into any more detail because of the word restrictions, as I pointed out in the author's notes. This post is already too long.
