This is very well written. Life at times, does make you feel as though you're just running in circles and being led around like a dog on a leash. But, eventually we all
break the chain and begin to figure things out on our own.

This is brilliant and I so relate to it. I went back to University at the age of 38 and quickly learned that many lecturers just loved me if I swallowed their line of thinking, their propoganda and I was virtually guaranteed a distinction. I love your analogy that to think like they think is akin to a dog chasing its tail but I am positive, if this poem is any guide, that you have long since sailed your own ship and you are doing it very well. This is a very interesting poem, especially to me. I have very limited education and I have always felt that I missed something. I thought that school helped you to think for yourself, however your poem tells me that it trys to conform you. This is a well written piece and very thought provoking. good work

Oh! I love it. It really explains what teaching is. The flow is good. Nice combination of words. Very good rhythem at the right places. But I don't agree with the topic. It is bit biased. In the poem you question two sides. If you get what I mean.

Wow! Such a low view of college. Just where else are you going to learn how to be a doctor or lawyer? or a tecnician? Or astonomy with its many and deep things to learn? Ok poem. Tony

This is an interesting little poem with a smooth flow and a lively rhythm. If I were in a college where I was being to taught to think like my teachers think, I would run like hell...I spent years in academic life as a student and a teacher and was taught to think, not to think like my teachers...in fact, students who spat back teacher thoughts were not seen as good students at all and were often challenged aggressively by their teachers to get them to think for themselves. With the sort of education you are referring to, it is clear that the student would not be a ship ready to sail...and because he has yet to find his own tail, he probably would just simply be chasing his teachers tail. The presentation of your thinking in this free verse
poem is very good; the thinking however seems somewhat imprecise to me.

What an interesting poem with a message that we need to
grow and think on our own. We have teachers, but we take
what we can from them and then use our minds to think for
ourselves. The picture goes along with the poem well.

What a great metaphor about learning and growing and becoming adult.
The learning process is so complex. Teachers are essential, then we must learn to stand by what we believe, and ultimately become the teacher.
Very well done.
