I enjoyed reading this poem. It has a high artistic value- scattered rhymes such as golden and broken. The arrangement of the lines is also fine. However, i could not make much meaning out of it. I wish i could because i like it. cheers

"A man's word is his bond". With a reputation of having integrity and honesty, he receives so much respect. Something that used to be valued so much more than now. But, so glad you liked the structure. Have another read of it now that I've written this. Thanks much, Perp....Sue

Superb job, Sue!
I love the photo, the message and every line of this lovely poem.

This flowed very fluidly and has a very nostalgic feel.
I love it.

I'm still learning about poetry so thank you for the author's notes. I like the message behind poem and the title matches what you said. In the past I had often heard that expression about a man's word from male relative. I just forgot until I read your poem.

"A Man's Word" is a beautifully written poem about the meaning of a man giving his word, his promise. Poem has perfect rhythm and reads very smooth. Well done.

What a beautiful poem! But, what else can I expect from you? A promise kept is most definitely a golden thing. It is hard to find trustworthy people anymore. You have captured the beauty of a good promise perfectly. Thank you for sharing this with us.

When I saw the title, I thought it said, "A Man's 'World,'" and I thought Good, someone has finally got it right. (I need new glasses.)

Oh, yes. I really like the poem!

Oh, what an interesting form! I'd like to try one of those. Yes, definitely, the man's word should be unbroken, as every man should have a noblesse oblige. I like a strong and sturdy character in a man, you depicted it so well and what a priceless picture!

I'm going to sponsor a contest on this format. It will be in a prompt later tonight. Minglement gave me the idea. So many people like it. It took me an hour to find an image that I felt would tie in with dignity and integrity. So glad you liked it! Thank you for saying you liked it, also. And for your lovely review! :-)) Sue

I've not tried this form, but have seen it a few times before - looks like an interesting one to try - you have executed it well - I like the symmetry of it and the reciprocity you describe in that one who keeps his integrity and honor will be treated in return with honor

Brooke, glad you saw the turn there. Marcia had a good idea to have a contest on this form. Think I'm going to give it a try. I think others will like it. Thanks very much for your review! Sue
