This was a very beautiful well written poetic prose. I too lost a dear friend recently, though not a companion.
Remember how the forest creatures,
fled from us at first, in fright,
only to return and slumber
near us where we stayed that night? [this stanza puts a sweet image in my head about animals responding to human kindness.]

Thank you for reading, your kind words, and the stars. I can tell you related, loss does that to us. While I was overseas in the US Navy, this beautiful, sensitive young girl took her own life.
Took me years to write this devotional.
Take care, irish

It is one thing for a criminal to return to the scene of a crime, quite another for a lover to return to a place where love was not only born, but took flight and freely flew permeating and bringing joy to the entire surroundings. Well written prose that sparked good feelings within my poetic soul.

No greater way to honor her memory than through this mellifluous verse of treasured memories and love that knows no boundaries!
"The amber sash that bound your secret..."
Lovely!

Your poem is excellent in every respect--skillfully and creatively written, vivid in the vivid description of how a love story got its beginning in a forest one starry night. Now he's gone.

Your poem brought tears to my eyes as we lost my husbands grandmother this morning. I, too, just wrote and posted a tribute for her. I'm so sorry for your loss and my prayers and thoughts are with you and your loved ones. Many blessings to you

I like this poem. For, it paints a very deep in
depth picture. And it also has enough creativity
to hold the reader captive. And that takes skills.
Keep Writing. And don't forget to stop by to talk
to me. Stay Connected

It's always sad to lose someone you love, and I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Your poem tells us of all the pain that is filling your heart. But there are also many happy moments brought to life as you share your memories in the warmth of your words. This is a lovely tribute to that person. Well done. Sandra xx

I really enjoyed this. Your rhythm and meter seem great throughout the piece. The only part I struggled with was the size of the font, however, I feel that the smaller font in this case lent itself to the nature of the work so I am not sure I would change anything, Nice work
