Linda, This is a very sweet, but very sad poem you have posted for your sister. That had to be so hard for you both. I am so sorry you had to go through that. The picture is beautiful. Thank you for sharing my friend. love and blessings, Teri

Very well done with this work, l.raven. You've told a wonderfully complete work of nonfiction that is simultaneously beautiful and heart breaking and brings with it all the pangs of life and the incredible bond between sisters. I think this is a strong work. My only suggestion would be regarding some of the punctuation choices (which you've noted in your author notes) and also, in your anecdote about the mop and the spider, mop and one point is spelled mob. I believe in this section you were also looking for the word jumped rather than jump. Otherwise, really well done. I wish you all the best! Thank you for sharing.

My heart aches, partially breaks at the pain you and you poor sister had to suffer. After my parents ended their marriage I spent some time at my grand mother's house. My mother remarried and no sooner than I settled in, getting used to my new cousins, my mom and stepdad moved away to find jobs. This move left me isolated at my Grandma's place all alone as my two older sisters refused to go back to grandmas' house. I spent many lonely days and nights at my grandma's house until the day my mom returned to take my middle sister nd me back to the city with her.

HI Nolan, I am so sorry you had to go through that sweet guy...
I don't know if some parents know that leaves scars on a child...my sister never got over it...she was so insecure her whole life...always feeling abandoned...

I'm so glad your mom came and got you and your sister...regardless...you turn out to be a pretty great guy...
    and a wonderful friend...

Thank You my sweet friend for a soooo wonderful review...love Linda xxoo

Oh, Linda. I'm sorry I used up my last six. This was so moving and touching. Thank you for sharing. I can't believe your mother did that but I guess she was desperate and couldn't care for you and your sister for a few years. Still, how painful and traumatic that was for you and your sister. But you are made of stronger spirit than your sister so you could adapt. It was a nightmare for your sister. Even from childhood, you were the pillar that everyone depended on. Thank you for being there and continuing to love and forgive and keep loving!!

There were some punctuation issues like apostrophes missing. But I know you're writing from your heart so I won't list those. Just where there were questions:
times I grabbed the mob. (mop?)

Hi Helen, LOL...I got the mop covered...Thank You so very much for the help...

I think that place broke my sisters spirit...but I truly believe that it is where I learned to help people...I spent my whole life helping and defending my sister...

we worked at the same restaurant in our teens and twenties...we had our own apartments...mine was across the street from hers...I didn't want to go to far...when we got off work...every night...I had to go to her apartment first...
as I walked in I would look behind me at her...she would be rubbing her hands together so scared...to break the tension
I would swing the door open...and yell...is anyone here...I need a date tonight...and I would look at her...and she would have this half smile on her face...and rolling her eyes...I would continue looking in all the closets and under the bed...behind every door...and then she would feel safe...and tell me to go home...laughing...

and your so right, she never did adapt to that place...sigh...
Thank You so much for a wonderful caring review my sweet friend...but that is you...and you can correct me when you want...I know yours is through your heart...God Bless...love you...Linda xxoo

And I forgot to mention that I loved your sister's poem. What a stark contrast from the compassion of Jesus and His mother compared to those mean nuns. Her poor young girl's spirit was tortured! She expressed it well in the poem.

it's sad Helen...but I have heard other people
say they had the same trouble with the nuns...that's just wrong...

and just the fact that my mother did that...she felt the abandonment...

thank you...I'm going to post some of her other poems as well...love xxoo
