This is such a gut-wrenching piece you're written. I don't T really know you either but I do believe i read about the loss of your mother. I know the emptiness you are feeling. We are blessed to be part of this wonderful group. Hugs, in time it does get better. Drew xx

My mom lived until I was sixty seven, and died too soon. One of the great natural losses when the years take them, a tragedy and trauma otherwise. I reviewed a few of your works, I think. Keep writing.

Dear Precious Portia....
What can I say except, "BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO!" You have said so eloquently and humbly all there is to say What what can anyone say, or contribute to you what you already said. You poured your heart out, and I felt it to the very core of my being, since I can so identify with the loss of your beloved Mother
RGstar is all that you say and he has already contacted me, and so happy and humbled to be referred to as his friend.
It is so comforting to see that your poem was/is deepfelt by so many Fanstorians I know how it must bless your heart to read their reviews. I applaud you for pouring your heart out to all of us. You will always have a specuial place in my heart.
God Bless You, Dear one, and continue to comfort you in His Loving arms.

I can feel your pain since I've lost my mother, and more
recently, the sudden death of one of my brothers and another
is slowly dying of cancer -
my heart and prayers go out to you, my friend.
It's true the Fanstorians are like one big family and are there for each other ---
LOVE LIVES ON
Those we love remain with us
for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fad
because a loved one's gone
Those we love can never be
more than a thought apart,
for as long as there is memory
they'll live on in the heart.

May God bless and keep you at such a difficult time as this. Within a span of five years I buried my middle sister, my oldest daughter, my father and my mother. Since that time I have lost cousins, aunts, you name it, just an overwhelming amount of loss. But I do not mourn them, I am not sad because I know that God who created them, has never forgotten one single one of them. At a time that he deems proper, He will call and they will rise and answer. All of the memorial tombs as well as the sea will have to release the dead and they will stand before All mighty God. Be comforted in knowing that God does not torture his creations. They are resting comfortably and yes you will see them again.

Now is it not strange that the potlatch area under study this week is "Prose Poetry" because this thank you letter I believe would qualify as a prose poem. "Looks like prose, reads like poetry" so wrote Michael Cahill, the king of Potlatch. This does that for me.
Thank you, Portia for your generous thanks.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Portia, I know what you are feeling and I agree, if your mother is still living, go and see her as often as you can ... and some more. I miss mine terribly and it's the third anniversary this month. Like you, Fanstorians were so kind in their prayers and thoughts. I'll keep you in my prayers, my friend. Sandra xxx

What a touching story. My mother died several years ago, so I can sympathize with your loss. Your words "A mother should never be forgotten and feel that she is all alone" are so true. You do a great job of showing your appreciation to FS members for their poems and notes of comfort during this time. This is beautifully penned. judi
