How sweeet to write about your grandchild/ren. I'm still waiting for one of my own. My daughter is stubborn about getting married because of the technical aspects... something about credit ratings affecting the spouse. THey really should NOT--I have to look into that. Nowadays kids live tog for a while first. But I'm tired of waiting for grandkids! Grrr...

Hi, Roy, you seem to keep to the criteria of the competition here with the comparison of your grandson and the butterfly. I was really struck by the well-written imagery here, especially in the last 4 lines of this poem. Best wishes, Pete :)

G'day Roy. This is another very beautiful and touching piece mate. Reading your notes, I can't blame him for crying at the news, I don't watch it for that reason. Good luck in the contest, cheers Fez

Beautiful rhythm. Imagery evoking love, innocence, beauty, movement. I love the line "dancing jewels in raindrops' flight". An excellent poem that gives the reader plenty of mental and emotional imagery.

Hi there! I was attracted the title and picture attached to your poem like a butterfly :) I'm a grandmother who loves her three wee ones so we have that in common. a delightful read. Good luck to you in this contest. I think you have an original approach to the contest requirements. I can identify with your grandson because the news upsets my delicate balance too!

What a beautiful tribute to your grandchild. Love the comparisons of a butterfly, dragonflies, or just simply a baby's cry. Has a wonderful rhythmic flow. Reads well. Thanks for sharing. Les

That is so sweet. You can see from your words that he brings you boundless joy just to behold him is to be amazed at his cuteness and captivated by his smiles.

This is a delightful entry for the contest. It sounds as if your grandson is an old soul, most kids would think the rubbish and war on TV is just war games. I loved your poem that has all the ingredients of new life, which the butterfly represents. Well done Roy.

A nice description of a special little soul. I enjoyed reading it. You did well with the prompt. No changes. There is great flow and good job with the rhyme. Good luck in the contest.
