What an adorable, charming read this was - your little guy is very clever it seems. Your narrative voice was as sweet as I imagine this child to be, and the whole tale was an absolute delight, but especially when he says it's his day off! LOL

Hello jlsavell
Your short story reminds me so much If how my children tried the same trick (I don't feel good)
Love the reactions of the four year old and the phrase
( Just daisy)

Oh, this was brilliant!. I loved it. "Where does my tummy hurt? What kind of question's that?" That's lovely. Typical little boy. Your talent knows no bounds, Jimi. From the scholarly to the hilarious to the heartwrenching -- there's no subject or genres you can't tackle. With a mother like you, your son's going to grow up to be a genius.
They've only let me give you 5 stars. That's an outrage.

Not only are you an amazing poetess your short scribe is brilliant as well - really I can see my four year thinking and saying the same thing - they simply don't understand mines when I take him back to his fathers and down come the tears on both sides of the fence - thank you so very much for sharing - your take on what your son was thinking is what all mothers think their children are thinking or at least I do -
