There's A Spider in My Bathtub

This poem made me laugh twice. The first time was:
They give me itchy pants.

And also:
So it appears my spider friend
Has gone to spider hell,

I do try to rescue half of the spiders I find inside the house, but I totally understand why sometimes it is just easier to wash them down the drain! Nice share.

    Hello Crystie,
thanks so much for the delightful review gal. I applaud you for rescuing some of the inside spiders. I'm always afraid they'll sneak up and bite me at night when I'm not looking. I did find a rather large one once under my sheet when I went to make the bed. That freaked me out pretty thoroughly.
    Have a blessed day.

Thank you for sharing this cute poem with us. I am allergic to almost every insect to include spiders. One bit can send me to the hospital. So, although I realize God created them and I wish them no harm, they do need to live somewhere not around me. A spider in my shower, oh no!!

    Hi Barbara,
oh my gal, you live in an area with lots of creepy crawlies. That's one reason I don't live in a warmer climate. I used to find spiders hiding in the clothes of the laundry basket. They seem to like damp places. I don't mind if they want to feast outside the house, just don't make an appearance inside if you want to live.
    Have a blessed day gal.

I like your poem. I don't like bugs either. I have seen earwigs alot in my tub. They are gross. Your poem flowed well and was very descriptive. Very good job.

    Hello Brenda,
thanks so much for the wonderful review gal. I'm not sure I've ever seen an earwig, nor do I want to. Periodically a spider will find it's way up the drain. Fortunately the tub is too slippery for them to climb out. I always suspect they are up to no good, waiting for me to step in the shower and then attack.
    Have a blessed day gal.

This poem about a spider in your tub made me laugh. I don't like bugs, either. Those last two lines were hilarious. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

    Hello Jessi,
thanks so much for the outstanding review and stars gal. I'm so glad this resonated with you. A lot of people are scared of spiders. That's why they are a part of Halloween- they're spooky! Bugs belong on the outside of the house, where birds can eat them. As it is, the birds seem to be falling down on the job. I still see lots of bugs walking about freely.
    Have a blessed day gal.

Love the humor in your poem. Yes, any type of bug, especially in the bathtub is definitely a "No, No." We should compare notes of our least favorite bugs. =) Mine, is the cockroach.

Thanks much for sharing.

    Hello Shanbreen,
thanks so much for the wonderful review. I hate cockroaches too, but I've fortunately, never seen one in Alaska. When I lived in Key West, we had Palmetto bugs, which looked like cockroaches on steroids. When we turned on the porch light, the ground looked like it was moving. We had termites living in the apartment too that used to leave a tiny pile of dust under the wooden table leg every morning. YUCK! Fortunately we had a resident lizard, but he could only eat so much. I kind of wished he had weighed about twelve pounds so he could keep up with the bug problem.
    Have a blessed day gal.

Tom, Shanbreen was my daughter who passed away when she was 12, struck by lightning. It was quite some time ago but sometimes it feels like it happened just yesterday. I am her father and write under her name

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. What a tragedy. My apologies for the mistake. I'm sorry for your loss. No parent should live beyond their children.

Haha! A lovely verse 'woven' with your usual wonderful character and humour. The trouble is, I like spiders because they're such shy and lonesome creatures with ingenious creativity and cunning. I'm hoping this one will still survive in his watery hell and maybe not bother you for a while:)) Thanks for sharing, Tom. Take care Debbie

    Hi Debbie,
thanks so much for the delightful review. I know there are folks like yourself who like the little devils. I can tolerate them outside, but not in the house. They give me the creeps. If only this one had been more shy, it would have lived in safety.
    Have a blessed day gal.

There are times when we get an itch to scratch and it seems obvious one set upon you so badly that you had to put it to words. And now I warn you don't look at the celing lights for its likely what you will see will be another fright. Bugs in everyone of mine, and I have to find one alive.

    Hey Tom,
Last year I was cleaning the ceiling lights at the church building. It was winter though, and all the bugs were dead and crunchy. I don't know why they can find their way into the light fixture, but not out. I hate to see them up there, it makes everything look dirty. Thanks for the great review buddy.
    Have a blessed evening.

T.B.,
I share your dislike of spiders, however, in their defense, they kill other menacing bugs, so they do have a purpose;though they have no business setting up shop in a shower.
I really like your humorous poem.
Good luck with it.
Cindy

    Hi Cindy,
I agree with you that they eat other menacing bugs. Where I'm living now though, I've watched ants walk right in front of them and they don't do a blasted thing. They just sit there, probably thinking about coming in to the house and setting up a place in my shower. Thanks so much for the delightful review gal.
    Have a blessed evening.

Hi, Tom. Where I live, there lies the wicked recluse spider; its bite can paralyzer an arm or leg. (PA).

In basic training in South Carolina, we were warned of this ferocious arachnid. I bought 2 cans of bug spray and sprayed my tent at bivouac til it was uninhabitable. I was cold, but didn?t see any bugs. lol.
If you want to see something amazing, look up the ?grasshopper mouse,? and see what he does to a deadly centipede! I?m thinking of getting one as a pet.
    Thanks for the chuckle,
    Have a nice week, Cindy

    Hi Cindy,
oh yes, the Brown Recluse. I lived in South Carolina in Charleston when I was in the navy for a few years. I loved the fishing down there, but the snakes and fire ants gave me the creeps. I actually shot a spider with a twelve gauge shotgun once while squirrel hunting. I may write about that. I'll check out the mouse. Ooh, centipedes. Here in Alaska we don't have all those warmth loving pests. We have grizzly bears and moose that can stomp you to death, but they can be seen.

Spiders are such wonderful unique creatures, I admire their work with web design and if they manage to climb up the drain pipe and into my bath I rescue them and put them back outside. It is a pity your spider went to hell Tom, ha ha ha, a fun poem and I enjoyed your clever rhymes, love Dolly x x x

    Hello Dolly,
I was thinking of you when I was writing this poem. I knew that you liked all manner of insects. I wish I shared your feelings regarding the multi-legged amongst us, but I don't. Thanks so much for the delightful review gal.
    Have a blessed evening.

But what if that little spider was one of Charlotte's relatives? :)

Aw, Tom!
You most definitely put a smile on my face this morning, and I can tell you surely had a fun time composing this leggy poem of an unwanted visitor to your shower!
My husband always retrieves arachnids and takes them outside... especially when I voice my concerns! Most assuredly a Charlotte lover.

Thank you for sharing your adventure this morning. And now I will know why it's going to rain all week!

Especially enjoyed this stanza:
I don't like spiders or beetle bugs
Or flies or gnats or ants,
When I see them in my house
They give me itchy pants.

(The above could even be stanza #1... Just a thought!)

Thank you for sharing!

    Hello Diane,
Charlotte never even crossed my mind when I was dealing with that nasty arachnid. If they want to hang outside where I hopefully don't have to see them, that's fine, but I'll run them down with a slipper if I see them crawling in my house. Thanks for the wonderful review gal. Have a blessed evening.
