You've definitely captured a moment in time as that vigilant cat has located its meal for the day. I like the monorhyme and the way 'located' actually includes the word 'ate' in the same line. This all aids fluency and fun. Well done and good luck! Debbie

This is a good ekphrastic poem. It describes the effects of the cats meal well. I would think that cat was fat before it ate the mouse.

BTW I don?t often have to look up words on FanStory, but today I did. My Webster online dictionary didn?t even know the meaning of the word: "Ekphrastic".

I like the image you selected. The poem made me smile. The image of the dark rat meal contrasts with the sleek white cat. The word located is the only word of more than one syllable and as such, it brings a sense of movement.

So hard to judge this, you met the brief, but the brief stifles creativity. My favourite bit of this was in your notes, life goes on. Good luck in the competition, this was a difficult one and you nailed it.
